Ok, I was doing a little browsing and I found something a little disturbing. I looked at the stock weights of both my 88 Firebird and our 74 Vette.
88 Firebird=3150lb.
74 Vette=3390lb.
What is up with this?
Not to mention I have 170hp stock. Dad's got 195hp stock. Bot cars have high miles without rebuilds, so in theory, wouldn't my little LO3 be able to keep up with our 350 Carbed Vette? I can't believe that those stats are true. I would think they would be switched around. I'll do a little more searching and take the average of all the sites I find.
I just can't believe that Vettes weighed that much and our thirdgens are that light!
If this stuff is true, I will be ashamed when I do upgrade my LO3 and it will really waste the Vette.
If anyone can clarify the info I found, let me know.

That's probably pretty accurate during the oil crisis of the 70's cars had their power plants cut in half which is sad but oh well..And the vette probably was a little heavier.
yeah, the 70s vettes (with the exception of the 70-72s) were the worst ever. they kept getting heavier every year, and on top of that, the power dropped also. keep in mind that your car is the base firebird, imagine what a 88' GTA weighs!
