I been beat by 3 of these cars first time by 2 car lenghts and the other two by 1 car lenght. I love pontiacs greatly and like GTP's but *** i have a L98 350 this just should not be happening. The time i lost by 2 lenghts was to my friend and his is stock except for a K&N.

Oh yeah i also raced a newer 3.8 firebird beat him by a lenght but damn near lost do to traction off the line.

 

Put headers and a cat-back on and you should be able to beat both of them.

GTPs are those 4door cars.

 

they're 2 doors too. Seems like some kid with his dad's gtp is always trying to race me. My car looks stock but sure doesn't sound like it! One raced me in the rain, he had me till 3rd gear when i finally got traction, i fishtailed right through first and second. usually, they go down.

how fast were stock L98s? it seems like you should be able to beat them, their 0-60 times are 6.6 seconds.

 

Put a $70 Pulley on those GTPs and get an extra 30 HP! Do some exhaust work and it is one fast mother...

 

One handed me mine at the track this Sunday when it blasted a 14.5@95 don’t under estimate them with a very little work such as a different supercharger pulley and better intake and exhaust they are very fast.

 

I raced one in my 95 Z28 A4 it had an exhaust and one of those pulleys and I pulled a car and a half on it and would have kept going had I not ran out of road. My mods to the 95 are listed in the sig.

 

Buy a set of BF Goodrich Drag Radials and you won't have any traction problens.

 

The GTP's are one fast car. When I purchased my 91 B4C my friend got hooked on speed, but wanted some thing a little bit more practical, so he got a 99 GTP. We only raced once. I think I would of got him if I could of got tractsion, but the road had some gravel on it where we lined up. I left the line going sideways and was about 4 car lengths back by the time the tire cuaght. It was fun, but now he is getting a new pulley, headers, PCM, exhuast and a bunch of other stuff. Now the only satisfaction I have is that I have about $5000 in my car and he is up to around $15000.

Beware of the Buick GS's to. They got the same engine.

The first time I drove one, I sold cars at a Chevy/Pontiac/Buick dealer. I took it for a drive just to see what it had.

I was like "Damn!!!!!" At the time I had a 94 Z28 6spd. The SOTP meter told me that damn Buick would give my car a run for it's $$$.

I can just see soccer mom blowing me away now in my sub-17 sec. car. Talk about a potential em-bare-***-ment.
