My dad has a "Muscle Car" and while it's great to lift the front end and be knocked into the seat by g forces it sux when you turn, like the rocker panel is gonna lay on the ground. In effect I would much rather have the TTA however it would be a close race I believe but only if the 69 had slicks

Well if you raced them you would use slicks or drag radials on both to be fair. And if they were both running right it would be a close race. Yes the 69 is a first gen and the first year of the Trans Am, it is the most valuable and probably the best looking.
I LOVE and live for V8 muscle cars, but I had to vote for the TTA. Those cars are Bad A$$. They look sweet and run with the LS1s. I think there is one down the street from me and it looks just like shrp1's car. It may not be a TTA, but you never know.

I had to go with the '69. While the TTA might be the better overall car, i just think that those old muscle cars are cooler. They made no excuses for what they were, and I have to admire that.
As of now its 11- 10 to the TTA

Well, rack another up for the '69 I like both cars about equally, but a well kept '69 is more venerable and deserves a caring home, while the '89 is just barely a teenager... I myself actually like the '70 more than the '69... it may be a second gen, but it retains first gen front fascia but has a slightly more continuous look in the back.

I still have to say the '89 is faster though, because of the versatility of turbo... all it takes is more boost... no mods... the '69 wasn't blazing fast without some sort of modification, however small it may be.

Well I asked which you thought was faster also, so the faster one would win a street race. I mainly wanted to see if the TTA would blow the 69 away just because this is a thirdgen board, it didn't so I guess most people aren't totally biased. The race would be close.

Which is faster - the TTA in all respects.
Which would I rather have, well scince they made just over 600 T/A's in 1969(and a mere 8 convertables)and most of which werent parked at birth I'd have to say the 69.
But that is after I finish my TTA collection of course, one more and I'm done
