theoretically speaking...

Has anyone ever put an Allison engine in a third gen. If someone had, theoretically speaking, how fast would that sucker run. As I mentioned on the exhaust board, that'd be approx 1500 hp with no mods. I know these engines have been used in tractor pull competitions before, but I was wondering how they would do on the quarter mile.

May be a bit tricky changing No.12 plug LOL I know there is a guy over in Britain (here) that made his own car called 'The Beast' in which he put in a Rolls Royce Merlin 27ltr aero engine. He put a Rolls grille on it to and was taken to court by them..

I can't remember the performance figures, a lot of that is dependant on how well he built the car- but it did have a huge hood and was a little heavy on fuel. It eventually burned in his garage after his house caught fire . Strange thing is that my mum once dated him back in the day....

I think, going back to the question you would need to put that sucker on a fully tubbed chassis... Nice thought though!

That would be a very heavy car. Those engines are about 7 ft long right? 1500 HP @ 3000 RPM too if I remember right (probably not though). They're definately not screamers just huge torque monsters. If you do get one make sure it spins the right way, becaue they were side specific on the lightening.
