Camaro Vs. Mazda 626 prt. 2 can I beat it now?

ok guys a couple of months ago I posted a thread "some of you might remember" about my girlfriends 89 manual mazda 626 and how she said she could beat me in a race, at that time I had a 87 auto V6 2.8 mpfi camaro, you guys told me I didn't have a chance but ya never know, I raced her and she beat me good.

Well that camaro got stolen and totaled, so I have a new one, it's a 84 automatic 305 4 bbl carb camaro with a 700 r4 tranny, limited slip, and 3.08 gear ratio. it's butt bone stock right now except the open element K&N and a minor cold air intake " left the snorkle on so it still blows cold air toward the open element".

now she is still saying she can handle me, what do you guys think, my new camaro against her mazda, who would win?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1984 305 4bbl Camaro "expect pics soon"

Mods:Open element 14x3 K&N kit & a minor CAI

Current mod under way:
Flowmaster 80 series muffler.

Kills: 1989 Honda prelude SI

LOL you're gonna win man. as far as i know 626's are high 16 second cars with most runnin 17's. I have the same car you now have and I run high 15's with just a cheap *** $30 shift kit

yes, you should take her easy. There is no excuse. I have the same setup without the k&n in my open element, and 3.08 gears but no posi, and i would $hi+ a brick if i lost to a 89 626.

even without posi I dont think you'll have any traction problems. Get her in tune before the race just to make sure.

-plugs
-wires
-cap
-rotor
-fuel filter

Then go to the tech section and do all the q-jet mods. If everything is in order you should easily pull a high 15 second 1/4...and toast the mazda

p.s. a cam and more gear will really wake her up nicely
