87' Iroc vs. 90' 5.0 GT Mustang
My car is a 1987 IROC-Z with a 5.7L tpi engine and a 4 speed automatic. The only modification is a flo-pro exhaust. How does everybody think it would do against a 1990 5.0L GT Mustang with an automatic transmission? Just curious.

Stock for stock you would win. The auto 5.0's are a lot slower than the 5 spd's. The 5.0 5 spd's were as fast if not a little faster than the 350 TPI's from the factory, but it all depends if the the person can drive a stick shift.
You would beat the GT. If it was an LX, then i dunno. My roommate freshman year had an '88 IROC and I always raced him before i started modding my car and I could edge him out sometimes. GT's are heavier than LX though which is why i say you will beat the GT.
You should take him. The auto Mustangs weren't very fast stock, and they couldn't get out of the hole at all. It seems that in stock form, the AOD wan't very good for racing, but after some additions, Converter, shift kit, etc, they were fairly good.

from what i have seen and heard about you should probably beat the GT, but like Mustang5L5 said, with the LX it would be close if not even a lose for you if it was a 5spd and good driver. I say go for it and tell us what happens
