I full well know what a '99 Cobra is capable of, but I still want to see timeslips. You can't parade around claiming to run x time when you've never even been down the track. People like that usually can't drive for **** and are afraid of what their actual timeslips would say.

Im with Nic,
The car may be capable of one thing...you may not be up to the task. Those cobras need a VERY good driver to get decent times. Judging from your racing experience (v6 fbody), I'd guess YOU would run high 13's on that combo.

Show me a slip

Also, I think this is why people are calling you and BS left and right.

. I knew my old RS couldn't run 15s. The only time I ever took it to the track was a 1/8th and I ran a 10.2 if memory is correct.
Then we see a link of you posting your QUARTER MILE TIME.

or this

Then you're gonna have to wait until this weekend.
(regarding timeslips we were supposed to see.)

I havent pulled one bs flag up...Im just explaining why everyone else did. Go to the track and post your slips...better yet, tape your run.

-Doug

So they STILL USE WIRES HUH?...like I said. you would be crazy to directly mount a coil pack to a plug. IT STILL USES WIRES!

Umm,
The cobras do NOT have plug wires. The coil does attach to the plug.

Remember on DOHC heads the plug is right on the top, not on the side like ohv chevy motors

Believe me I know that those Mustangs can run 12s, but that doesn't mean they all do. Just post a timeslip, and your mods, and then we will see if you are lying.

914Mula, I don't know about defensive. I question monkie's truthfullnes like everyone else on here. However, monkie was correct in saying that he has no plug wires on his cobra.

camaro_hunter_d, I said that the Ford 4.6L ignition (and I don't know what other engines, if any) has the coil right on the plug. I said that the GM Gen III engines use short (about 6") plug wires. I said the both Ford and GM use 8 coils. I didn't say that Ford uses short plug wires. This is why the Ford-type ignition is a coil-on-plug design and the GM ignition is a coil-near-plug design.

Most of you guys here are total jokes but Im not going to throw out names like Camaro_hunter_d or 85transamtpi. First off Hunter Im not stock. I haven't been to the track yet for christ sake. I said THIS WEEKEND. BEING THIS COMING WEEKEND. Its FFW at atlanta speedway. I may, may not take my car out on the track. I could give a **** less what some guys on a message board think I can and cant run. Just because I had a V6 camaro means I cant drive good? Fu(k you, I bet I could go out and drive your car better than you can! I raced a LS1 last night and the only reason he beat me was because he had a 100 shot. I beat him N/A. And since the LS1 were built by G0d himself and can run 12's off the show room floor then I can. Grow a set of ***** guys and realize I don't give a ****. My time slip is for me and for you to find out. If you want it come get it. Im done with this thread.

If you care so little as to what people here think about you, why do you get so riled up about what they say? I don't know you either by what you have said on previous posts or in person, so I cannot say if they are justified in thier opioins. However, if you know that you are under the microscope for ing, then make sure that what you say does not contradict anything you have said before. You should've realized a long time ago that to be taken 100% seriously on this board you need proof.
Some kills are very easy to believe ('my IROC beat a neon'), some aren't ('my Omni beat a viper'). Because anything is possible (there are fast omnis out there ), proof is needed to back up some claims. If a car is known to go a certain time in the 1/4 and you say yours is faster, don't be shocked when people want proof.

Can't we all jus get along?

If you have any old timeslips, post them like this, and I will believe you!

R/T....................0.645
60ft...................1.986
1/8....................8.936
mph...................79.61
1/4..................13.582
mph.................101.23

Thats all i want to see, you don't have to scan a slip or even a picture, just some proof.

Well then judging by the Factory stock Mustangs with similar combos to mine, I should be in the mid 12s. You can't compare your car with someone elses, especially at 17, you probably can't drive half as good as most guys running 12s with similar set ups. So you are telling me that you bought a brand new Cobra at 16, ad found a company to insure you, and haven't killed yourself yet!!! I call so much BS, it hurts!!!

also, he said he raced a LS1 car and beat it, so he MUST be in the 12s. well, not everyone can run 12s in a LS1 fbody. scratch that... hardly anyone can do that! its pretty hard. sure, it can be done, but the average person gets mid-low 13s. hell, ive never even seen one go that fast! the best time ive ever seen at my track for one of those cars stock was 13.7! you cant say you run something based on what other people run. the only real way is to go to the track and get some real numbers. all flaming aside... Monkie, wouldnt you rather have some real numbers instead of just guessing?

You guys rag on him for having a nice car??? I don't know ages that well at corral.net, but some of you people might *!@^ your pants if you saw some of the ages at ls1.com. A guy that went to my high school worked full time while going to school and bought a brand new Supra a while back. He had something else as well, but I forget what it was. I've seen his car, but not up close and I don't know if it's even TT or not, but still. I'm not sure how smart it was for him to do that, though, considering that he always fell asleep in class (worked way into the night) and hardly ever got to see his friends outside of school. However, that was what he wanted to do and he did it. For all you guys know, Monkie has a hookup and has a decent-paying job and doesn't even have to work crazy hours.

age doesnt matter... (no offense meant to monkie) ..but maybe his dad has the dough...for it i mean look at it mustang cobra ..his addons wouldve been 1200+ bucks ....

age has nothing to do with whether one can own a car...but it definitely has to do with how one can drive..as driving comes by experince...

and tpivette ur right ive seen guys here @ the track run high 13's and one guy bought a new LS1 and all he ran was low-mid 14's ...ur very right about being able to push the cars to the limit

bottomline monkie why ddont u try atleast Gteching ur car ... u spent all the money on mods why cant u get a Gtech ...that;; atleast give u a idea..of how u can drive...

i dont think its jealousy here...but anyways why dont ya go to the track and get a video to prove it monkie....

BTW if u think im jealous ur mistaken bud...im 23 and driven on both sides of the road also cars with right hand drive and also driven cars that u have never seen ...and im not the only one ...most guys here probbly are masters in the 1/4 mile...(which im not) ..and cort here for eaxmple owns a cobra replica ...so i dont think anyone is jealous here..experts usually can tell by lookin at the car and the mods pretty much what it can do in the quarter...and most of the time ...an average driver is .5-1 sec off that time

See its **** like this that make me just say F it. Im not gonna drive to a strip, buy a video camera, tape a run that might break my half shafts, drive back home, upload the video, and try to get you guys to believe me. LOL, if you think I would go through all that trouble to make a few retards (not particularly you 89) believe that I can break 12s. I might and I might cant. It doesn't matter anyways at this rate of mods I will be in the 11's by summer. So it doesn't matter, just cut me some slack.

What's that smell? Hmm, he can shatter hatch glass with his exhaust, he can run 10.2 in the 1/8 but still 17s in the 1/4 he owns his own 99 mustang (easily a 17k used car) and works 2 full time jobs at 17 to afford all this?!?

Wow... Either you are really ambitious, or you're one of those fools who love to

Oh you are bringing the hatch thing into this? Bass = vibration, vibration = movement, movement = stress, stress = crack. If you want to call my friend and ask him then I can give you his number.

Wow, so you're saying that even though no one else has EVER had this problem SOMEHOW the sympathetic vibrations from YOUR car "magically" shattered his glass even though people with much louder cars (NHRA anyone?) can't. Perhaps you should go to school instead of working your 2 jobs so you can pay your car payments?
Post your friends number, I'd love to hear from him myself how his undamaged hatch glass SOMEHOW shattered due to the exhaust of a passing car.

So what's his number? I'd like to hear about this so-called "stress crack" myself! Someone needs to teach you about the laws of physics because people have HUGE competition level bass systems in their cars and no stress cracks.

lol getting off topic buddy. Tell you what. Since you seem so hard bent on being the winner of this I will go ahead and give it to you. Lets just say that a bird **** on his hatch, cracked it, he needed a new one, so he set me up, and blamed it on me. Case solved and you are the winner I didn't crack it. Now shut the fu(k up and lets get back to topic. The 12 sec pass that I can pull off.

You really have to post twice to make one point, tough guy. Dynomat doesn't go on the rear hatch glass Your point is still

As for your supposed 12 second pass... if you're afraid to take the car to the track cause you might break a nail or whatever your excuse of the moment is then perhaps you should stop talking about it? No? Once again
