I was coming home last nite from college in my GF's Blazer and we passed what at first resembled a Lightning but it didn't have side exhaust and I looked on the side and it said 5.4 . I was what was that and she slowed down and it said BOSS above it. What do these run.

 

There was a post a couple weeks back where Nic was saying these didn't exist from the factory. Which is probably true. It seems like it's just a truck that has BOSS badging from the dealer and It probably is no different than an F-150 with the V8. So whatever a V8 F-150 is running is what this is running is my guess.

 

Oh, ok, I couldn't tell cause it was late at nite, but it looked like he had some kind of ram air, type of hood on it, kind of like how a turbo has that intercooler scoop I guess, but I'm not positive it was late at nite and my mind could have been playing tricks on me.

 

Ya in the previous post I think they mentioned it had BOSS badging and a hood scoop of some sort. And the dealer just jacks up the price on it cause of the new "BOSS" package.

 

Oh this? I took this pic at the chicago auto show back in the middle of Feb. I think it was. I don't know jack about it, Ive seen 2 at local dealerships though.

You can't really see it, but it has the 96-98 Cobra styler nostrils on the hood.

 

This is just something else I took a picture of, kinda related. I don't know if the Boss 5.4 has the lightning motor or not, but here's a cutaway of it. This thing is freakin huge, its like 3 feet from the oil pan to the throttle bodies.

 

That's exactly how it looked, yellow with the black hood.

 

I did a little research...seems as if nobody knows much about these things. 2 or 3 of the guys over on the Corral have seen them but they didn't know if they were factory packages or if they were dealer add ons either.

 

There really must not be much press on them, which I find very odd. Usually somone releases something like this and its all over the web the next day.
