Boss electronics EQ's and amps, any good?

Does anyone know if Boss' stuff is any good? I've seen alot of new Boss EQ's on ebay for around $30 and am considering getting one. I know they make pedals and other electronic equipment for electric guitars and have a pretty good reputation for that but I've never heard anything about their car audio stuff. Thanks in advance!

Get a JC Whitney mag, they have all kinds of boss stuff
All I will say is this.....YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!
I have seen some stereo stuff from JC Whitney that sounded pretty good. But it doesn't compare with my Pioneer(deck),Kicker(12" comp subs),Sony(6x9's) and Folsgat(punch 200 amp)setup.

I don't understand why Boss has such a bad reputation. I've never had a problem with mine. It's my favorite doorstop.

Point well taken! You get what you pay for is usually true but I've had problems in the past with "name" brand stuff too. But you guys are probably right here, Boss is probably right down there with Jensen, Kraco and all the other K-Mart blue light special brands.

I'm not trying to diss anyones (SH*T) here or anything but YOu get what you pay for? WHO THE HELL DO YOU KNOW THAT PUTS A 6 YEAR WARRANTY WITH THERE STUFF? I'm still waiting.... Hell I'm not a sales person for BOSS or anything but they are very much so worth the money. (IF) its their newer line say amps their REV series Don't buy the um **** the sides have little half moons and they are white you can see through them that is their cheep end and also the solid color amps are sh*t. I personally dont have any boss and never will as of right now I have audiobahn subs Logic amp factory speakers and a ****TTY *** JVC DECK (DON'T BUY JVE it's my second one this yeat I have to keep taking them back they don't want to give back your cd :-( anyway as to the gentleman that has fosgate CAN THAT STUFF and get ready for it to burn up unless its the older series like the 60@2 or so it will burn up and quit. and as for Pioneer when they changed the owners back in 87-93 somewhere in there they have gone downhill all you buy is the name their sterios over heat after about 9 months of long use
again i'm not dissing anyones stuff just my 2 cents

Boss is probably right down there with Jensen
Boss is far below Jensen. Boss is flea market equipment. It's somewhere between Jensen and Pyramid. I had a boss 100x2, 400 watt peak amp. Pure junk. My Profile 400 watt amp was junk too. My jensen 4x50, although still junk, outpounded both of those amps by a mile. My 4x30 Pioneer amp outpounds the Jensen (and sounds much better too). My Pioneer amp is totally eclipsed by my Kicker ZR240. See a trend?

I don't care what kind of warranty Boss comes with. I'd throw it out the window long before the warranty expired. Kias come with a 100,000 mile warranty but that doesn't mean that they are reliable.

I will assumme you are talking to me(fosgate stuff) I have had the same folsgate punch 200 for 6 years now and have had no problems.

as for Pioneer when they changed the owners back in 87-93 somewhere in there they have gone downhill all you buy is the name their sterios over heat after about 9 months of long use

I've not had a problem at all with my Pioneer.I did how ever have a problem with a new alpine. It did the same thing you said your JVC did.

I will say that when buying audio equipment even if you buy the most exspencive and most talked about. There is always a chance you will get a piece of SH*T.
