This girl has a 300zx turbo which she can drive the hell out of by the way and her boyfriend has fixed it up some. Do you guys think i have a chance? My mods are in my sig.

if it's a newer TT 300zx that'll be a tough one for ya and if it has work done to it you're probably dead meat. If it's an older one with single turbo you've got a better shot. I say race and see what happens. You've got nothing to lose.

It's an older single turbo 5 speed. Her boyfirend claimed 385 rear wheel horsepower but I'm not so sure.

i'd seriously be doubting the 385 RWHP also unless it's heavily heavily modified.

yeah, i agree. he probably pulled that number right out of his as*. most ricers do. if its a single turbo and youre sporting a 355 tuned port motor with those mods youre probably in the mid-high 13 sec range. thatll be enough for the single turbo car, but a modded dual turbo one would eat you alive. theres one here that runs 11.2s. sick

Yep, the older single turbo cars are mainly driven by posers who REALLY want to have a newer TT car. You shouldnt have any major problems, but only one way to find out.

Oh yeah, There's one TT supra here in chitown running 9's.

Lets asume her boyfriend installed performance exaust, intake, nice boost controller, blow off valve, intercooler, and maybe a fuel regulator, @ this point the car is pushing around 250 to the wheels and running a between 15s and 16 quaters. So go kick his ***!!

A DECENT intercooler alone can can 30-40 HP... BOV No gain. Boost controller... MINIMAL GAIN 1-2 IT CONTROLS THE BOV... Fuel reg... Hmm Try a FMU... and that can add up quick if the PSI boosted. Exhaust on a single turbo can add another 15.. so in Obvious mods 40-60 Hp. Turbo work? easy 100+. Timing gears.... cam.... headers.... 385 is quite possible.

i know this is going a little of topic-but there's a kid by me who really spent time w/ his 96-98 eclipse-he had the engine imported from japan rated at 260 hp (naturally aispirated) and then he put a turbo-the car was dynoed @ 306 hp-so i wouldn't doubt the guy w/ the 300zx is that far off w/ a TT

Don't you understand this car isn't a 300zx TT? 385 RWHP is not something a mildly modded single turbo 300zx is going to produce. Turbo cars can produce some serious power if worked correctly. But a 300zx single turbo is a high 15 second car from the factory and has around 200 HP. Chances are those numbers (385 RWHP) are straight out of this guys ***. People like to throw numbers around. This would mean this car is making well over 400 HP at the crank and this is not just done with simple mods like adding boost and exhaust work. You can only add so much boost pressure before you have to modify the fuel system and on alot of cars that don't have strong bottom ends the stock motor can only handle so much psi. I'm not at all saying this is not possible because it is. But a guy who just did some stuff to his g/f's car I doubt he pulled the motor had forged internals installed,got a bigger turbo and modified the fuel system along with suspension goodies to put it to the ground just so his g/f can drive around in a car that's fast. He said it was fixed up "some". Not ***** to the wall bigger intercooler,turbo,fuel management system,forged internals,ported heads,etc..

As I recall, he said it was running 8psi and I know it has a performance muffler of some kind and i think a blow off valve. Possibly a bigger turbo but, single I might add.

If those are the only mods you've got this race in the bag as far as i'm concerned.

One way to tell if I'll win or not is to get my lazy *** up and go race her . I'll post the results when i win... I mean race..
