If you want to know if the car is really an ex Player's Challenge car, pull up the carpet in one of the corners and look for where the cage was welded in. Have you checked the RPO's yet?

Don't keep us waiting !
As long as you didn't buy it as a PC car it ain't no big deal if it turns out not to be an RU7. Keep in mind there is a big difference between 1LE and 1LE with RU7.
But I've been digging around and have not found info supporting a 305 powered 1LE with t-roofs. Seems 305 1LEs were either all hardtops or I simply haven't bumped into info supporting roofs with a 305 1LE. I don't remember ever seeing a 1LE hardtop either but that might be my poor memory.
So if the car is definitely a 1LE and you have t-roofs then I'll bet you have a 350 1LE (which did come with roofs) and perhaps someone has done a tranny switch to a T-5.
Not uncommon even up to several years ago. In 1995 I almost bought a '90 350 Formula owned by a GM mechanic who had done a T-5 swap from the original auto.
Well 89rock1le, we are waiting for the RPOs and the block casting number. My curiousity is growing don't keep us waiting eh ?
thx,
RP.
