SLP HEADERS buy now I am..
I have a friend with a performance buisness out of his house.. He is very reputable... and a drop box in the US... So he said to me today he will order the SLP headers through Summit for the summit price... but all I have to do is shot him and extra $65 bucks to go get them when he gets an order from other people so i might have to wait a week or so.. Whoop tee do... So the headers will be about 750 plus tax plus shoot him 65 bucks cash.
If anyone else wants wants this deal let me know...

they are the same price for both... so you have figure out what you need.. I am going with 1 3/4 and I am putting them on my 305... for now!! I have a 350 I will be swapping in the winter..
I have done alot of research and I think 1 3/4 will be fine... plus I wanna put them on the 305 to see if I gain or lose at the next dyno day... I talked to a guy who put them on his 305 and he gained 3/10's in the quarter.. but the dyno will tell me everything...

I believe I paid $589 Canadian for my SLP's last summer. Honestly, I don't give a **** what you guys do, it's your money. I have seen Dave's Flowtechs and they are not what i'd call inferior to the SLP's. If you have a 305 and intend to keep the 305, the 1 1/2" primarys are not gonna be much of a restriction. All the shorty headers neck down into the same size down tubes. Would the size of the primary before that down tube really matter that much? I think the only solution on high output engines is full length headers. The fact that 4 different engine builders have told me that is what I base my opinion on. Shorty's are a compromise between emmisons legality and fitment.
Had I kept my SLP's I would have spent a few hours on them with a die grinder. They where full of spatter and the welds where somewhat "generous". They did however look like they'd survive a direct nuclear strike. They are built to last. Oh yeah, those of you that get the SLP's, get your own gaskets. The ones that come with the install kit are worthless.

Just my 2 cents.
I've always been under the impression that if you go to much exhaust flow, you'll get gobs of hp, but it'll cost you torque. Street engines still need a certain amount of back pressure.
Notice, all header companies only advertise hp., and thats great if thats what your into.
But ask any experinced engine builder and he'll tell you, getting down the track, (dragstrip) it's torque you wanna build.
60ft times, are torque and good traction. Has nothing to do with hp.
Nascar and roundy rounds, thats hp.
But on the dragstrip, a high hp car will get beat by a torque monster, everytime.
There, I said it...... Bring it on guys.

Yeah, you definatley need some sort of backpressure if your running TPI for sure. All of their torque and horsepower is made at relatively low rpm. If you wonder if I'm on crack or something just remove your y pipe or those that have broken a ypipe will know what I'm talking about, the car becomes a dog.
without a doubt full length are better headers.... just I don't like scraping everywhere i go... Full length's don't leave much room between the collectors and the ground... I have seen them.. a friend of mine is building a 400 small block into his IROC it will be close to 400 horse and put the Full length Hooker Super comps on and they are to close to the ground... so he is going to slp aswell.. but he won't have to worry about torque I am guessing... I am building a 350 this summer and installing it this winter... I am putting them on my 305 just to see if I lose or gain.. might aswell just to see....

Car runs crappy with open headers cause its not setup to run that way..Change the parameters/jetting etc for open headers and Im almost certain that it would make more power than with the 'backpressured" counterpart
Accel..The last time I called Zeke's it was like $800 for 1 3/4"
shouldve bought yours though..
