Don't fret. At least you have your car out. Mine's been out of comission since the beginning of May.

I should be set up soon though.

Just remember when you think it can't get any worse...

Think of taking your car to the track and blowing your new motor after having it in the car for a week, not thats a tease...

Ouch! What was the motor that blew up and what are you going to put in it's place?

I feel your pain as well. My car has been down since May as well. Well, May 2001

I think we should start up a 'parked' subboard where we can all get together and talk about the 'good ol' days' when our cars actually ran, and dream about the days when they'll run again (if they ever do)

Yeah, it sucks, but it should be up soon, I'm dealing with some flywheel and balancing issues.

88red: i replaced a 305 with a 350 over the winter, had it for about a week, took it to the track with Acceld and blew it up, so since then I've been building a 383 stroker to take it's place, but i didn't do my research on how to balance one of these, but everything is taken care of. i got an externally balanced fluidamper up front, and I just ordered an aftermarket flywheel for the back. So all should be well this weekend, i hope...

To kevin: May 2001, ouch, I guess I shouldn't complain then...
it's just been so close to be ready, started great and everything, it's just this one problem holding it back, otherwise...

I hear ya...I've had a series of those 'one things' holding me back, just bad luck i think. I've got one more roadblock to go then everything should be set. Going to need an etest, hope that won't be a problem

All the best with the new motor! If all goes well, and I'm sure it will, are you coming out to St. Thomas on August 10? I'll be taking my car for the first time.

Its a little far for me to go, plus I don't think i'll be hitting a dragway this summer, the last drag incident kind of scared the **** out of me, if you know what i mean.

that was not a new or rebuilt engine you took to the track after only one week of being in the car right?

no, it wasn't. It came out of my dad's 70 Monte Carlo. It had taken that car down the track many a time, and I think it was just tired, plus miss shifting couldn't have been good for it either.
I blew 4 bearings.
