Hey! Since your the only one on the board that seems to enjoy their stick as much as i do. Here's an idea for a mod.
My T5 was loosened up over the span of it's life. I recently touched a wrong bolt and threw the inside forks out of alignment. i had a tranny shop do a rebuild on it(or re-alignment) and it now shifts nicer than can be. It goes positively into each gear, nice and tight, and doesn't have any play in it at all. i think this surprised me the most so far. If your shifter feels loose at all, I'd recommend this for sure. the rebuild cost me 150 bux. And I bet it'll be worth it all.

actually that is one of my gripes...

hey my '91s T5 is REALLY loose I mean sometimes I blow the 2nd to 3rd shift (ok I am getting a little older too) cause it jams. I never had this before on my '85 or my '88.

You figure I can get it fixed up for $150 ??? I was looking into an after-market shifter to fixup the problem but if a simple rebuild will do then I'll go that route when it is parked over the winter. Figure I can pull the tranny myself.

thx,
RP.
