Shannonville
Anyone interested in meeting at Shannonville at a night we can use the dragstrip? gotta look at the schedule, then see which dates suite best for everyone interested. But an Ottawa(and surrounding area) meets Toronto(and surrounding area) could be a pretty good sized crew to get togeather. All generations, 1, 2, 3, and 4. Not trying to exclude Windsor or Montreal boys or anything, just seeing if TO wants a gathering, Bellville-Shannonville is roughly an even drive from TO or Ottawa, within 3/4 of an hour, and being the only strip between us.
I think it could be doable, and definetly fun. Anyone else interested?

Hey I will go as long as the rest of you won't get mad when I hand you the losses. It is just to hard to riegn my car in as it is strickly bred to race and win. I need the practice with the car on the strip before I unleash this bad boy on the unsuspecting peons in the outside world

I am sorry but I have my servant buy me unfertalized eggs, usually the omega 3's as they are low in cholestorol I would suspect they will never hatch. Just like your chances of beating me with that clunker of yours.

Sorry as I told CRUISIN I am going to a show in PA this weekend. I have been to luskville many times already this year. I am not sure I like all the attitude in these message boards, but I should expect no less from some of you, it must be hard to be looking up at the rest of us all the time.
NO MATTER HOW FAST YOU GO....IT WILL NEVER BE FAST ENOUGH!!!:nono:

I'm guessing it's a 95 civic with a 1.8 and a home made turbo made out of a heinz tomato soup can.
You come on here flaming and you have no clue to what any of us have/run, so shut up and go elsewhere.

I have a few cars '92 Camaro 25th Anniversary, '89 TA GTA and right now one is running a 383 and the other a 350 while my '96 has a 3.6l TT. I have some others to bring up from back home later, but for now these will have to do. Unfortunatly I do not own your dream Civic, but by your description of it , it would probably have placed higher than your car did at Brockville. So you should bring it next year. You are right I got no clue what you are racin' with:87 IROC Z

Show some courtesy please, you just joined. I have my doubts about you, and your comments do not help aleviate any of them.
I'm not slamming your car, I am slamming you lack of tact and disrespect towards a fellow member of this board. You don't strike me as the type to own a thirdgen at all.
This is just getting plain silly... Cruz, don't pay any attention to him.. he just wants to get on your nerves..I find it very odd that any thirdgen owner would act this way, even easyspeed had his moments but none like this. I've yet to meet in person any thirdgen, any f-body owner that has the audacity to treat other thirdgen owners with such disrespect. Even the 350 enthusiasts have their moments, but nothing like this from the start.

Well I guess I am the new breed of 3rd gen owners and yes Daddy's been good to me. We just moved here from Cali and I guess some of you do not appreciate my sense of humour, and some may have been offended but mabe you should toughen your skins a little guys and loosen yer shorts a tad and give us younger guys a wee break.Mabe I could tone it down a bit, but hey you are who you are. Its all good man I ain't physicaly threatening anybody or swearin up a streak so whats the prob man? I am just bringin some color brother, so just chill a little. Easyspeed and I are just trying to bring some life back to the funeral baby, why can't you see that? Sometimes I might get these boards mixed up with the "TANG" boards where its a free for all, but all in fun man. So mabe you all might lighten up a bit and I will try to stiffin up a bit and we all might get along.
PEACE OUT!!
PEACE OUT!!
Hmmm I know and met a lot of thirdgen and f-body owners in Cali and I can say that this new guy is not a good example of the owners in Cali...
When I lived there they were nice, humble and above all else respectful to ALL f-body owners... no matter what they drove v6/v8 305 350...
Please reread ALL your posts. If you have any semblance of respect, you will realize that you are only instigating trouble. From your first post, the only intent behind your words were to anger those who read it. I find that disrespectful to me and the other members of this board. Do not compare yourself to easyspeed, he is a honest and respectful member, albeit young but still a worthy owner of a thirdgen. He understands the value of hardwork.

He He He you guys are hilarious! I would go only i am not sure if my car could get that far and if it did i would get great times hooffin it down the track I think i could cream 4nk8 cause he would have a hard time taking his eyes off my wreck trying to figure out how exactly it is still running.
4NK8TOR,
Why don't you snap a few pics of yourself with your cars, holding a recent newspaper? I'm sure everyone will lay off you if you can prove that you're not a troll.
And don't give me any BS about not having a digital camera.... if your parents are THAT loaded, you definitely have one.
Seriously... don't you think that someone who owns at least three f-bodies... two of which being thirdgens, including a 92 Anniversary Edition would know how to spell Camaro?
I won't hold my breath for the pics.

Big news flash kid, this isn't a ***** site... this is a thirdgen site for American Muscle Cars...
These "toys" have my utmost respect for the power and responsibility that they command...
A car is not just a toy... it is a powerful machine which everytime you get in and drive has the potential to kill...
That is the difference between "ricers" and the rest of us...
If you think driving in the real world is a game, time to wake up...
Its not about the chics, the showing off or the speed... those are the small perks that come with owning a car... not what the car is about...
Maybe I've seen friends get hurt too much.. maybe I've seen too many accidents... maybe I've lost a few too many friends to recklessness... That is the harsh reality of life...
You tell that to the family I helped out in the meridian on the interstate after some punk *** ***** who felt like racing cut off their suv and caused them to roll over... you tell that **** to the kids who thought their mommy was gonna die...
Come back here when you've come out of your sheltered life and see what harsh reality truly is...
I pay my respect to those I don't know, simply out of courtesy... in that I may earn their respect and with their actions they may not lose the respect I give... This isn't a lovey brotherly world, but just because it isn't, doesn't mean you shouldn't make the effort to make it a better one simply because you believe that it isn't...
I've had my rant... the little kid isn't worth anymore time or effort... I'll see the rest of you on Friday or at St. Thomas for the meet, as for the kid, I don't have to prove nothing to you... only thing that matters to me in this life is life itself... my life with my girlfriend, my family and my friends... ***** comes in the form of being able to stand up on your own without daddy's help and succeeding where only failure exists... If you manage to scrounge up a degree later in life, perhaps you'll be worth chatting with, but until that day, I am content in saying this is my last words on the matter... you are not worth the effort...

Saints and Sermons.
Not that I give rats but I'd have to agree with fornictor or whatever he calls himself.
It's not like there's turn at the end of the quarter and some guy's going to call your bluff on the way in. Your only going about 100mph in a road car and in straight line at that. Recreational activity I think.
But that said - I never went road racing to make friends - just to win - and to win you need good equipment and you also have to be bit of a bastard.

I contacted Shannonville, they got back with info I'm not sure is very useful or not. I think there may have been a miscomunication somewhere, I was looking for days to just run your car, I think they gave me dates for competition. I'll have to get back to them.

Hey guys, here is the schedule for Shannonville.
I vote for a LARGE gathering on September 20th. For the test and tune.
Has anyone run here before? What kind of shape is the track in?
I ran at Luskville on the weekend..and had forgotten just how bad the surface is. Traction is nonexistant..I need traction!!!

Yeah, that's the dates I got. I guess we are allowed to just run our cars on those dates??? I'll check my dates for work, but as long as I don't work, I WILL be at a date we can all agree on.
I went to Shannonville a couple years ago for superbike racing, they use part of the back straight for the drag strip, so it is part of the roadcourse track, always very well maintained. This is not a rathole of a dump like Luskville, they have pride in their track, and don't have a worthless piece of trash like Arnie Malcolm running the show. I can't wait to see if a track goes up in Stittsville, then it's "goodbye" Luskville, back too the cornfield from which it came.

I wish somebody had gotten these dates sooner...
I would have voted for the 16th.
As for the 20th September, the next day is the TFBM finals for the month and quite frankly I'm commited to the 21st already.. as are many of the Toronto guys...

WOW!!! I cannot believe the amount of people that feel we need a proper Drag strip built for Ottawa. Its true, we are building a Drag strip. It should be ready for next season, so start building and fixing up those cars for a new beginning.
Bret Harrison will be heading up the Drag end of Ottodrome. We have heard nothing but good things about Bret and the excitement is really building . If you belong to a car group, come visit us now so we know what you want ahead of time.
We should do a show and shine on our site this year as a big get together. Our aim is to have a home for all car clubs to meet and greet in stead of the odd parking lot or restaurant.
If your club would like to show off a bit, you could do a few victory laps during our regular Wednesday race and introduce yourselves to the fans.
Keep up the good suggestions, and watch our back and in return we will provide you with an outstanding Drag facility to be proud of. If you feel there is anything we need to know, don't be shy. Fax, email or call us.

Its TRUE!!
Ottawa Drag fans have been asking for a Quality Facility in Ottawa to call their own. You Spoke
And we have heard. Stay tuned for BIG news in the next couple of weeks on this exciting new
project. I am sure you will be happy with our friendly and fair promoters for this upcoming
feature. We will be calling a general meeting to all those participants who are interested in Drag Racing
in our community to get your input on what you would like to see. We understand that today's cars need
a forward thinking establishment to run from. Stay tuned on our web page for meeting details. This will be by
invitation only to those who are currently race participants (no potential new promoters at this time please).
