Changing T-5 fluid..
I don't personally drive manual but I too did my tour of duty in a lube shop(Mr. Lube and CT Pit Stop) and remember putting sythetic in. Customers would tell me it's like night and day. The shifter actually shifts smoother. I put synthetic in my brothers plymouth laser and that had a big difference. Like Butter!!!!!!!
Again, just my opinion based on MY experiance so basicly it's worth Sh*t!
But seriously try it. My brother went with red line. Excellent choice but pricee. You shouldn't need more than 3 liters.

get stuff from GM
I've heard enough horror stories of people using synth on drivelines that I just use GM stuff off their dealer shelf. Don't believe it ? Hey I work with a guy who just spent $1100 large to replace a Zed-two-eight rear end with less than 50k on it. The gears came out with the oil... ouch.
I say Goto dealer and get the stuff they recommend.
my .02 cents worth,
