What size were stock wires?

The plug wires that I have on my car are AC Delco 8mm.

What I want to know is what was the stock plug wire size for our cars? Was it 8mm??...because if it is then I think these might be the factory originals....

It's either 7 or 8...most likely 8 though.

If you say that you upgraded to MSD am I to assume that MSD's are a better wire than the Taylor Vertex's??

measure the resistance for the longest wire and post it..I want to compare it to Accel cheapos and 8.8mm..Then maybe Slade1000 can computulate how much horsepower you will gain..j/k Rovic

I will measure it when I get my Taylors next week

And I will post it here... I have a very good/accurate digital multi-meter... (Fluke)

I can take a look at the cheap 7 mm, I still got a wire or 2 stored. My multimeter is a fluke as well, the error correction on them is very small compared to other meters so it should give a good idea. Resistance is related to current and voltage R = V/I so every aspect of an ignition wire really does affect performance... especially in the higher RPM range when you want to have a lot of energy to ignite the mixture but there is not even enough to bridge the gap...

I don't have a set of 8.8 wires, just 8mm so I can tell you if BW's are good for the money or not.
