Back from the body shop...
Here's my GTA back from the body shop, all freshly painted with it's new fibreglass spoiler. For a spoiler that wasn't supposed to turn out perfect it looks pretty damned good to me.

its long term that you will start to see the problems with the wing. after about 6 months or so it will start to buble. it happens to all fiberglass that has not had time to gass out all the way. (that could take up to a year) most paint shops will want you to wait a full year before you paint a hood that is not steel. found this all out the hard way
. i hope you have better luck.
the paint looks great:hail:

Double beauty
Had to say it again -- beauty man.
I sanded down the metal frames on my t-roofs, taped off the glass and sprayed with flat black primer. They look brand new now. Have you done yours yet ? Pretty easy detail work.
adious,

I dunno, the spoiler had been sitting in Paradise Alley for a while... Besides, the body shop said they'll give me a one year warranty. I'd make sure that counts.
Hey Palric, which metal frames are those? Just along the outer edge above the windows? I thought that was plastic. There isn't a frame around the glass. I did get the shop to replace my t-bar plate though, since the old was had just about rusted through. The whole car looks cleaner with the tops off now.
Thanks for the compliments guys. Now the speed factor, I intend to work on that over the winter (as well as the cosmetic side of the engine bay). Currently I hope to polish and do some minor porting of the plenum and runners, rebuild and polish the alternator (maybe paint it and the runners gloss black), some sort of cold air intake, maybe new ignition components, maybe an adjustable fuel pressure regulator (would I need a higher-flow fuel pump?), etc... Maybe headers/y-pipe/cat to match my current after-cat system next year. Yeah, I'm starting to like this...

Well I had planned to get a gasket set for the runners and plenum. Should I pull the base and replace that gasket while I'm there? I'd kinda like to leave that part alone...
So you did the adjustable fuel pressure regulator too eh? Did you have to replace the fuel pump? Thanks man.

Fuel pump is still good
The reason why I tell you to do the intake base gasket now is...... I did all the stuff you plan on doing, last winter... at the time, there was no leaking at all at the intake base, so I just put the runners and plenum on and there I go. NOW!!! I have an intake base leak at the rear coolant jacket, something I could have done while everything was apart. I am not saying yours will do the same thing... but I just don't want you to be in my position. Cause now, when I take that base off... I am doing more than what I want to... but now I can't just do the gaskets, I have a bad "might as well" attitude.

Good, the fuel pump idea kinda scares the hell out of me. lol
I dunno, I think I'll leave the base alone. If it blows a gasket I'll just take that as a sign that I should put a new cam in while I'm there. Yep, might as well...
Any idea if Canadian Tire would have a gasket set for the runners? They were very clueless when it came to the TBI/intake gasket for my truck.

Go directly to the dealer for them, they are high quality gaskets. Oh... change the Manifold Air Temperature sensor while you're at it. It is like 30bux, and worth it. Also, take your EGR off, and clean it with a brush and some carb cleaner, make sure it moves freely.

Thanks for the tips, I'll keep it in mind. I'll more than likely put all of this off until a week before I pull it out in the spring though.
