Throwing me into a delemma guys. Yes it is first come first served, yes I would like to see the guys on this board get first crack, yes, it was posted almost a month ago with constant reminders, yes, the deadline for the members to confirm was Sept. 07 and lastly, I told Palric that if there was any cancellations, that I would let him know. So what should I do? I have only one suggestion. Tanager11, I would love too have you come out, however as I just said, the deadline has come and gone. The reason for the deadline was because there were guys that had friends interested in coming out. I felt it would only be fair to let the members have first crack at coming, so I told Palric and 92zeddar that if there was still openings after the deadline, they could then invite the buddies. With that said,as I am a man of my word, I will let Palric bring his friend, however, if you wish to come out with us, if there is time after everyone else has had a turn, you can go on the dyno. The reason I have limited it to ten cars is because of the time frame. Last time, with 8 cars, we had about 45 minutes left. If anyone has any disagreements with my decision, please use the PM.Dave I hope you do come out, even it is just to meet with the rest of us.
Sorry man! I should of though of PM you.. I just thuoght I would get it out there as soon as I knew so everyone would know what was going on.. So we could get someone to fill in right away..
Sorry Kev

No problem, Gerrit. I can appreciate that. Took me by surprise, though. Like I said, I hope that Dave does come out, and if there isn't alot of tuning going on, you never know, we might be able to squeeze him in. If anyone else does cancel, Dave will be the first one that I contact.

Mr. 4th gen '97 Z28 (otherwise known as Mark) says HOORAY and will be there for sure at 12
clock high with cash in hand. He has a Cayenne red Z28 pretty unusual color and has done some interesting mods. He is a member of TFBM so I guess that makes him sort-of-ok eh (grin) ?Many thx,

Sounds good Richard. It will be interesting to see what kinda HP the 4ths put out. My friend has a '95 T/A and when he lights 'em up, it's like a huge torque monster...
As with last time, the line up for the dyno will be by whoever shows up first. I will go last, just to make sure everyone has had a go. I also need to leave 1:30 open for copperchick as she is coming on her lunch break. The cost will be about $40 each.

Kev, you mentioned in a previous reply that there was 45 minutes left by the time everyone was done. Does this mean we all get one run? Or can we squeeze in two? I'm new to this dyno thing and don't know how much time is required to set-up a car, do a run, and complete. If each car takes 20 minutes than ya your right. We should be left with about 40 - 45 minutes.
Just clear this up for me.
thanks

thanks
The longest part of a dyno run is getting it setup and removed, the actual runs are quick, I did 6 on my car with various minor settings all in 20 mins, this time around I'm going to mess with fuel pressure and timing, cut out settings etc so I know what is what and marking them for race day so that I can switch between setting easilly.
For me, this isn't a test to find out numbers, its a fine tuning session... prepare yourself James hehe...

6 runs in 20 minutes!!!!! So we can fine tune our cars while it's on the dyno. OHHHHHHHHH!! I thought we had to take the car off after each run, do our fine tuning, and then go back on the dyno. Okay, that makes sense. Cool!! I hope to get 5 - 6 runs. I don't know what fine tuning I can do but hey....I'm sure you guys will have lots of suggestions for me. Oh and Slade1, I'll be keep a close eye on your car
I think my car is capable of more. We may have similar mods but I haven't had a tune-up in three years, I have a leak in my fuel system(no pressure) and in the last 36 months I've only driven my car for only, to be perfectly honest, the equivelent of 40 days. No B/S! Trigger is still trying to comprehend the fact that I only drive my car at night and never during the day for the last 3 years
I think all that sitting is doing more harm than good. What do you think Slade1?

I think all that sitting is doing more harm than good. What do you think Slade1? Sitting doesn't hurt.. its the start after the sitting that hurts... you just have to be careful, oil breaks down in the engine over time, hence the 3 months/5000km oil change recommendations. Its not really the oil though, its the detergents in the oil you worry about. Valve seals are usually the parts that wear down from these long in betweens first. Its due to oil just pretty much all draining to the bottom of the pan, oil after all is still a liquid and will eventually make its way down. As long as you do a start or two every few weeks to keep the engine parts lubricated and you change the oil after long sittings, you should be fine.
I don't doubt that your car is capable of more, I just make the best of what I got and from what little I've done in the mod department, I've made a lot I think.
As for a tune-up, I did my dyno run prior to tune up and the 1/4 miles with only new wires, cap, coil and rotor (i only put in the plugs a week ago).
So I was running the trusty ac delco stock plugs and were and am still impressed by how long they last and how well they looked when I finally took them out. Gap was around 0.036 I think feeler guage fit well in b/w... all were a decent tan color, no white or black. I have to say they worked well for being in there for 4 years now...

Hi!
I'm palric's friend - I just registered so I could say Hi to you guys before I showed up on dyno day
I've met Slade1 and 88redxtsy (convoyed down to St. Thomas together on the last drag day).
I'm not sure if it is an offence to post here and not actually have a 3rd gen...but oh well...
Mark
P.S. here's a pic of my car:

Sounds good guys....
Kev. like you mentioned give priority to others.
I was more interested in just comming out to check things out as an observer to be quite honest, since I don't have many things to screw arround with at this time.
Slade, if you are heading out on Saturday drop me a PM and maybe we can run out there together since I dont have a clue as to where this place is.
I am still not 100% sure what is happening this weekend (maybe cottage or staying in town) but I should know by tomorrow evening, and I will let you guys know if I will be showing up to check things out.
Thanks guys,
Dave
