LCAs, panhard and Dynomax muffler

I've been doing a few upgrades since dyno day. I installed Lakewood LCAs and a Dynomax muffler. I still have to install the panhard I am waiting on some upgraded bushings.

The LCAs I could tell right away they were in just as soon as I drove away from the shop. The rear is Wayyyyy tighter now it doesn't make that sickening sloppy motion anymore and when I lean on it the car stays straight as an arrow -- atleast as far as the rear-end is concerned. Definitely in the category of a WORTHWHILE mod if you ask me. A bunch of rattles went away too which is always a bonus.

The Dynomax muffler is very similar to stock in terms of sound. I have the factory HO 3 inch exhaust with 3 inch in and dual 2.5 inch outs so the factory muffler wasn't quiet either. All in all it sounds pretty similar so I am pleased with that. I leaned on it today and I could tell right away the exhaust is more efficient. Guess the factory unit I replaced it with was 12 years old and had seen it's day pretty clogged up ? Sure like the improvement I can tell you that.

Not sure what any of this adds up to in the 1320 hopefully some improvement if not thats ok the car feels alot better to drive now.

adious,
RP.

I notcied a big boost out of my car when I got rid of the stock converters... damn thing had clogged up... sound and tone changed a lot too.

I miss the sound of open headers... loved it when the cat back busted... amazing sound.

Those traction mods/chassis reinforcement is a major improvement I bet. When I watched you launch, the whole rear end swung out like a slugger swinging a bat... That should cut your 60 ft times a lot and get you in the 14 range... I'm betting you can pull 2.2 even 2.1 60 ft times with the torque your car puts out..

Wohoo Post number 1000!!!!!!

I came home one night and it sounded ok.. I started it in the morning and... hey.. my car sounds different for some reason... louder...then the panic.. then thequick rev.. then the mad dash to look under the car... then the lmao its a busted pipe.. then the driving into work like you traded out for a beast machine lol...

Yeah, I'm the optimistic type palric... there are people that can pull 2.1 60 ft with sticks.. it just takes some practice... suggestions.. try not letting go of the clutch until you know you have initial forward momentum then ease it out... its amazing just what you can do in a span of a second...

Well ihope you do get those 60 foot times because I have Hotchkis Panhard rod,LCA, Edelbrock drop springs, Bilstein Shocks.
And still 2.4 60's with new toyo Proxes on the back.... I wish you luck Palric.. I have been thinking about starting off in Second to see how that works.. because a 2.1 or 2.2 is not happening!
I have one last trick though Air pressure down to 25lbs in the back... but after that I am getting slicks!! hahahaha well I am anyway.... as soon as I get my driveshaft loop on...

Just practice on the the launches, getting a good 60 ft is as much a part of the driver as the car too...

Hey Brad it is louder at WOT in fact in has a rumble through all rpms that the factory unit did not have. I am getting used to it. One thing it definitely does is flow I did a couple of WOT runs yesterday and even with 35 degree humidex the car cleary ran stronger wish I had it on for dyno day -- the factory unit was obviously very plugged up.

See yah Saturday.

Those sound like great upgrades. But I think you would either need slicks or lowering brackets for the rear Lower control arms to get into a 2.1 60 ft. time. I read somewhere that Lowering Brackets are the single best Mod to increase traction on a third Gen.

current location of Lower control arm causes tires too lift as acceleration is applied. New location causes front end to lift and tires to dig in.
