Anyone Know A Blue 88 TA Race Car in Ontario?

I found a guy selling an 88 Trans Am (He claims GTA, VIN comes back as a Formula) that's blue, and used to be a race/show car. It had Denon and Sam the Record Man decals, along with a sticker that said "M competition". I used to have a roll cage and that in there.

Anyways, I was just wondering if anyone knew anything about it because the seller doesn't (He's claimin 350, yet the VIN says 305).

The real suspicious thing is he claims he has a 'super sport' transmission in it. He claims you don't need to clutch to shift it (Shift up - he says downshifting needs to clutch). After research here, it looks like it would have to be a Lenco or something....

Any help would be appreciated guys, I know it's an Ontario car (with previous frame damage).

Engine: 355 tuned port
Transmission: 5spd baby, only way to go
Axle/Gears: 3.45
about the shifting part...i can shift any gear without a clutch all you have to do is get it in the rpms high enough and itll slip right in...

and the 305/350 thing..

my rpo says 305 but someone swapped it out and putin a 350 so it is possible its just he may not know...

if you or someone you know wants this car go through it completely and dont miss anything...that way you are saving yourself from future headaches..

That's actually what he was doing and told me - you only go without the clutch when you rev over 3000...Isn't that hard on the tranny?

The only reason I'm even interested in the car is because of it's price, but if it's just a normal 350 inside, like I think ( I saw the TB was machined it look like, but no headers or anything) along with a normal 5 speed, it's really not worth 2000 (Needs complete body overhaul/paint. Dents all over the place, along with rust). I don't even think 2000 would be a good price if I was putting the engine in my other camaro - 2000 would be a great start to an awesome 350 that's custom built...

For 2000 Dollars you can have a complete 350 built by a professional engine builder. Don't pay two grand for it unless theyve got dyno sheets, movies and a sworn statement from the justice of the peace that says it makes over 500 horsepower.
