OK, new rule. When Ninety1TAGTA can actually take "a" car on this board, then he is allowed to smack.

Thats not fair lol. My only local competition on this board are you, with a carbed 383 stroker, or paul with a freaking every imaginable bolt on TPI. Are you guys going to bank and alta anytime before winter? Let me know I still want to see this stuff. Maybe we will run, and maybe I will get tuned, but maybe your torque arm will snap

My money's on the torque arm, it has the best odds going for it.
Paul was there last night, tonight looks no good due to rain, but maybe Sunday since Monday is a holiday.

I may go out hunting Sunday night

Dave, what if we chained your TA to your tranny crossmember? I remember reading about a guy in GMHTP with a 10 second blown IROC that did the same thing. He left the TA stock but secured it to the crossmember.

How about we weld it to the crossmember for now.

Anyways, over the winter I'll buy an aftermarket TA. For the time being, I won't be running it hard, I'll just enjoy driving it until the end of the month.

Considering the MPH and the 60'... you could have given Nathan a run for his money.

Did you mount up the slicks? That's a killer 60' considering the apparent track conditions. That's better than my best ever 60' with posi & slicks @ GB.

my best at GB was 1.99 on the same set up.

the track did get better as the day went on. first few runs had 60' at about 2.4

As I recall there was a 1st gen Camaro RS that ran 9.xx@164mph hehe

My 305 ran a crappy 15.414... on the upside I'm pulling consistent 90 mph trap speeds...

Hey James, considering I got trap speeds like you, think that if I got my hands on an aluminum driveshaft and a posi like you, I could catch your 15.2??? Food for thought about the lowly TBI's...

oh my dog I love that silver bird already... Look at the wrinkle walls on her uhhh... It even has the 91-92 fascia, to bad he removed the gfx though.

BTW birds win, seeing as how this is a thirdgen f-body board, only thirdgen f-bodies are included! 1stgen smirstgen blah... Seriously though... I love that bird... Even that sparkle on the window... Its talking... Whats that? Make my bird like you?... Yes master...
So who has 10 grand to loan me?

All things considered... that was a 305 matching up to a 350....

14.5 vs 14.4??? Somethings wrong here...

If we had some 350 representation (daz koff Jay) then what? 13? hehe

I have the slip too zeddar! yep you nailed me down with that 14.5, almost had a whole second on me too...

My 305 still has a long way to go before reaching those times, but I will do it via the helluva lot cheaper route...

Are you talking about a 5-speed 305 though slade? Stock vs stock a 305 manual can come damn close if not match a 350s (never came with a manual obvously) ET in the hands of a good driver.
On side note, good to see this thread got a second page! damn dial up...

I ran 15.1 flat at 90.XXXX mph. Just couldn't do any better. The engine itself is bone stock. Just the free mods and add-ons.

The 91-92 305 TPI 5 speed were set-up so powerfully that it COULD beat a 350 TPI auto!

The car is almost offically stored. Give it a car wash and park it. Put it on the axle stands and let the work begin. I'll break 14's for next year. High 14's that is. Nothing radical.

Overall I did have fun and as for that 11 second bird....I was man enough to go head to head twice. Yes I lost both time patheticly but hey, I stand up to all competition. Even that 2002 done up turbo volkswagon I was able to hold onto beating by .005 of a second.

Dont under estimate the turbos daz!:nono: Spend under $400 on an electronic boost controller setup, knock it up a few psi on 94 octane and you got an extra 50-75hp right there, maybe more depending on the application (some stock turbo cars are notorious for bottom ends that can take around 10psi more than stock). With a Volvo with say a stock 225 hp turbo motor he could easily be in the low 300s with some courage and a boost controller...

Daz - Its not that I don't mind losing........I hate it. Its just that I guess I'm a good sport, out to have fun and accept my fate at the moment about running a 15.1 second car. I may seem quiet but am very competitive. I hate losing only when I know I didn't give it my best. Other than that, I'm out to have fun. As long as I know I got the best out of my car, I'm happy. I hope over the winter to get the car in to 14's. I'll be doing most of the work myself. As for some other stuff..........I'll be calling a few of you for an extra hand, you hear me easy

I got some DUTCHIE a$$ to kick next year
