Parting out my car

My engine is burning oil and probably needs a rebuilt (piston rings gone) so I think I might just say f*ck this car and part it out then in the spring I'm going to get a sick vette... Anyways I was just curious if anyone on here would *sereously* be interested in any of my parts and how much do you figure I would be able to get parting it out? Or do you think I would be able to get more selling the whole thing? The tranny is brand new only a couple months old and came wiht a one year no questions asked warranty from high tech racing. My web page has a list off all the parts available on my car:

My honest opinion Karsten is you would make more money parting out the performance stuff (shifter, rims and tires, seats (just grab a crappy seat from the wreckers to stuff in there for the sale) and then just sell the car with motor and tranny as is. Or just part it out totally. Either way would be the best financially. That's all good if you're not in a hurray cause some items can take a while to sell. If you're time pressed, the quickest way is to sell the whole car.

Just outta sheer curiousity, how much would you be willing to sell the whole car for? With or without the stereo stuff.

Damn IROCKER, beating me to these things....Az needs something to tear-down, rebuild, and put in....plus the tranny and other goodies to go with it. Blah...

Whole car I would do for $10,000 OBO.. Why you want it? Make an offer.. Highest bidder gets it.

There is about $10000 just in the motor alone.. Never mind $2700 rims, $2500 stereo, $1500 interior, $1600 suspension, $3000 tranny, $600 rear end, etc etc etc : )

Karsten,

IMO youre better off parting the motor out..instead of selling whole..unless youre getting $4K for it..

You'll probably get a better deal parting it out...

$450 for the catback.
What kind of subframe connectors and would you take them off?
Whats the rms on that amp (Kicker changed everything around for 02)?
Email me at moshonas@iprimus.ca if you decide to part out the engine.
Personally I think you should just put new rings on it. Shame to see such a nice car get parted out... And once youve got to a certain point investing in a car, you should be like, meh, whats another grand for new rings?

As far as keeping the car goes the thing is it never ends I need the rebuild, new paint, new high perforance brakes at some point, the rear end will explode once I get the rebuild because if I'm gonna rebuild it I mays well throw on the 383 stroker and get the heads polished and ported with bigger valves while I'm at it.. Then another $4000 for the ford 9" I will need.. F*ck it too much money then after all that BS something else will blow up on me.. Ever since I got the car it has been the biggest money pit in the world.. The windshield needs to be replaced too because of a couple stone chips, tint needs to be redone, blahblahblahl TO HELL WITH THIS ****ING THING!@$!#@%$#@!$%$#!^% sorry needed to vent : ) I've spent around $60,000 since I got the car and its still just a piece of ****. I've had it.

If you're up to the task, you may not have to part it out.. do what I did

http://www.northernautoparts.com/Pro...ctModelId=3740

I wasn't sure what year a crate zz4 follows, but I'm guessing 87-92 kit should fit the bill ok unless there's something different about a zz4 that I don't know about.

They also have kits for other years too just in case.

Can't see you ever getting your investment back out of the car with a bad motor.

That thing is beautiful though If it was mine I would definitely fix the motor. Hell if it was mine I'd even consider a brand new motor for that car.

I'd say part it out, but I'd try and sell alot of the stuff to Americans. Shipping is a pita, but the 1.6 exchange rate makes it worth it. If I can sell a part for $100 Canadian or I can sell it for $100 US, which guy do you think i'll sell it too?

After you get your stuff sold, buy a bike. I know you've asked about them before. Get something for $6000-7000 and run low 11s

I've got mine for sale if your intrested (sorry, cheap sales pitch)

Forget about it I changed my mind again I can't sell it I'm in a bit better mood today good thing I didn't make any harsh spur of the moment decisions One thing I HAVE to do is get a daily driver though it wouldn't be half as bad if I was only driving the car once in a while. If I just throw on a $3000 paint and get the engine fixed I should be a happy guy once again. If I didn't loose a whole bunch of money at the casino plus get in a argument with my girlfriend on the same day as having my engine give up on me I probably wouldn't have been so bitter towards the car Girlfriend is gone now car however I will stay with forever for better or for worse
