Do winter tires make a diff. in our cars?

I was just wondering if I get a set of winter tires, will that really do anything for our cars? or will it be like a dream..

Absolutely! Winter tires on any car make a difference. Don't expect an incredible difference, but anything is better than the summer tires. You still have to drive carefully and adjust to the conditions.

I highly recommend the Crappy Tire Ice Trac winter tires. I had them on my SSE and I was very happy with them.

Get BLIZZAKS!!!

Send a PM to copperchick... she's selling a set, less than one season of driving and they're already on blue Z28 15" rims!!

Driving her 305 in the snow and ice with the blizzaks...we had ZERO traction problems... they rock!!!

And do what I've done until the Tercel is on the road....rear weight. I lined the hatch with plastic to prevent dirt anywhere, then loaded the hatch up with bricks...I couldn't get anywhere in the sloppy snow on Saturday....after the weight, however, no problems....but yeah, get some tires. lol

yes they will but don't expect a whole lot of difference, i'm driving mine this winter for the first time in 12 or 13 years, i usually stored it, but stuff came up and have to drive it.....i remember i lined the back with cat litter and salt/sand bags, had 4 snows and still was all over the place...these cars are too light too low and too much power for winter conditons......most importantly TAKE IT EASY.......

I drove my car for three winter in a row. Luckily not too much snow or salt and she's sleeping it off this winter.

Anyway Tires make a huge difference. I was slipping and slidding all over the place and then I bought a set of New all season radials Pacemarks 60 series and what a difference. The car drove very well with the only problems arrising at corners that were pure ice. It was hard to get traction to get started moving. Otherwise the car handled great.

Two years later it was back to the bad handling. Put on an other set of New tires and instant handling what a difference.
