curse those seats!

well, i love the new 95 Z28 seats I got off Johnny, but the old ones are a pain in the *** to get out.

They're actually easy as pie to get out. I got the front ones out in 10 minutes. I got the 2 back BOTTOM pieces out in 2 minutes each. But the BACK SEAT has a STUPID torx screw holding the seatbelt onto the seat through the rail (which is attached to the seat) and i don't have a dam torx screwdriver!!!

Now I gotta wait till 5 and then drive to Canadian Tire which will probably be closed by then!

Johnny, just a question, I noticed that the seat belt guides are still on these seats. I think I'll try using my old ones, they look like they'll fit... but how the hell did you get the seatbelts off without taking off the seat belt guides??? Were the belts cut or somethin?

You should disconnect your battery while in storage. It will drain no matter what.

I can't actually remember what I did with the seatbelts when I put my 4th gen seats in... maybe IROCKER can give you some insight.

Easy:
Disconnect the battery over winter.
If you have an alarm, run a direct power line to it.
You may also have a short in there, that's unhealthy for the battery. Find it.
What are you doing with the original seats?

holy **** is all i have to say.

to get the front seats off: 5-10 minutes each

to get the back bottom pieces off, 5-10 minutes each.

to get the back piece off, 3-4 hours.

why you ask? am i incompetent? no. the seatbelt guides are held in place by a torx screw. not only this, but they are also CEMENTED in for extra firmness. as i was unscrewing the tight *** screw i ended up shredding up the bolt. so then i thought it was hopeless because i couldn't get anything on the screw.

then my big uncle comes along and takes a set of plyers, and after about 1 hour he gets them out. holy cow is all i have to say. i went to homedepot and bought some new screws with a normal top. now i have to go eat christmas dinner and open presents, i really wanted to get the new seats in today!!!

You would be amazed at how easy those bolts come out with air or an electrical impact gun.

hah, i tried using my B&D power drill to unscrew the bolts. The bolts wouldn't budge, even when I had the screw halfway out.

On the bright side, I got exactly $250 for christmas. Hahaha, what are the odds, now I can pay off my credit card.

Air tools are a wonderfull thing...I found that out a couple of years ago.....they certainly make almost any job 10x easier.

One thing I have learned over the last couple of years is not to cheep out on tools (not that I am saying you are/did Easy), and if you have the space for a compressor, start saving your pennies for one since it will be well worth it over the long run!

Well all the seats are in!!! Wohoo, it took a while but I don't mind the time.

That front driver's seat was a paint in the *** to screw in. Now I know what you're talking about Johnny, the driverside rear bolt is impossible to screw in. I finally found the trick to it after a while, just need to get more tools from my basement.

Just a question, I could only get 1 cover to fit on the front seats. Are there more for the front or anything?

BTW: I hate power seats. Stupid... up down left right forward back.... retarded too complicated. BTW I also noticed one of the power buttons have a broken tab!!! well not really, just the little plastic tab over the REAL metal tab is broken, no biggie!
