I'm just curious, and couldn't have this Q answered confidently between friends....
should you be involved in a collision, one which is deemed the other person's fault, but you don't have collision as a part of your insurance - to obtain compensation for the damage you must prove your case in court. Is this correct...? If not, how else...? Or can you at all?

All you need is a police report to show your insurance. When your insurance is convinced that it wasnt your fault then your insurance will pay for the damages. They in return will get reimbursed by the other persons inusrance company..The one at fault..This is how I remembered it

Collision Insurance is for you. If you thunder in to a post or a wall such as myself.....the collision will cover you. And thats when your rates go up. So if its not your fault then you have nothing to worry about. You do need to police report to prove that or else you wont be covered
