Camping/Drag race camping weekend for 2004???

We SOGM are trying to organize a great weekend of camping and drag racing for next summer so that we can all get together and have a great time racing and admiring each others vehicles. You can look here http://www.sogm.ca/forum/viewforum.php?f=6 to add your thoughts or ideas, as we are open for suggestions to get this on the move.

OK it appears that June 11- 13 weekend will work best for this show, as the dragstrip has nothing major going on this weekend and the site we would like to get it open this weekend. So please let me know if this seems to work with everyone, as I have to book it before this weekend to guarantee us the site. The site owners seem thrilled with the idea of a Car Show and seem to want to work with us, so this should go over great!! I am looking into vendors etc, and have a few setup already, so lets see those casmping/racing spirits come alive!!!!

My mistake. June 11-13 is a no no. That is the date of the Camaro Nationals here in Niagara. SO the date will either be May28-30th, if not then... Mid to late August.

OK everyone I have requested the August 20-22 weekend. There isnt' anything to big at TMP, so this will allow us some decent Test & Tune times etc, and the weather should still be quite nice to boot. So please look here: http://www.sogm.ca/forum/index.php?c=2 to keep up with everything that is going on. And if you have any suggestion or questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Also here is a link to Byngs campground where we will be staying for the weekend. I will also make a list of all the local hotels for those who dont' like camping...

Are the 2004 Camaro Nationals held at Niagara Falls? This 1989 Camaro is my first one. It is in storage for the winter. Do you have to register for the nationals? I would like soom info about this event.

I've sent you a PM with more info for the Camaro Nationals. I would like to keep this thread for this event only.

Thanks, and welcome to Thirdgen!

Glad to hear it Adrian. The date has been set now. August 20-22 weekend. I will be going to the site this weekend to put the down payment, and I will then let everyone know the costs for the site, which I know are very reasonable, as you pay by the car load and not the person on the group sites.

Please check in at the link I provided near the begining of this thread for pricing info etc.

So now that we have a date set, being August 20 thru 22nd. I am curious here. The OSCA (Ontario Street Car Assocation) will be at TMP all this weekend also. Now Test & Tune will still be open to all... Being that most of the big racing for them will be on the Sunday, and not the Saturday.. Which would you all rather??? Go and do some drag racing on the Saturday, and do the car show Sunday. Or do both the Show and the Test & Tune the same day?? I would suggest the earlier of the two. If we are infact going to the track, do it Saturday, and save the show for the Sunday. This way we have all day for the show, and can have a better time doing it. Your ideas please???

Ok everyone. we have figured things out etc. Friday we get to the site, and just kick back and enjoy. Saturday morning we head off to TMP Dragway till around 4pm and do some good old Test & Tune. Saturday night we can clean up our machines some, and kick back for the night. And Sunday August 22 will be the "Southern Ontario GM Nationals" The show will be held on the baseball feild at "Byng Conservation Park" in Dunneville Ontario. The show will start around 10am, and go to around 4pm. at which time the awards will be given out.

We will be having full out flyers to spread around at all,and any car shows and cruise night we go to for the begining of this year.
Pre registraition will be $10, and $15 at the door to enter the show. Spectators fees will be as follows. Adults $5, (12-18) $3, (12 and under) are free. Any and all proceeds will be going to the "Help a Child smile" Foundation. So rest asure, all profits will be going to a great cause. I will be posting a copy of the flyer with the registration form attached for those who would like to pre register, and help get this show on the go. This is sure to be a great weekend of GM automobiles, so be sure to try and make it.

Thanks
