i have and auto 3 speed, TH350 .
the deal is today my tranny went, i lost second. while i was testing out this problem i notice my car was very very slow accelerating. i take her to my boys tranny shop and told him the story. basicaly he said the tranny was messed for some time.
see i have been trying to find the reasion for my sudden huge power loss awhile back and since my car just got even slower since this tranny issue i am thinking maby tranny is the problem. what u think??
i was going to change my stall thinking thats the problem but now since this i am thinking its the tranny
i could change the stall while i am rebuilding the tranny and save time, but it could be a waste of money if the tranny is the problem so as u can see i dont no what i should do
i need some help here.

There's not enough detail here to try and diagnose your problem. When you say your car is slower to accelerate- does the engine RPM still climb up and up and it just doesn't pick up speed like it used to? Or, is the engine bogging down as well?
Typically, autos slip, slip some more, slip alot and then stop working, period- the "symptom" will be the engine rpms always going higher, and your rate of acceleration going down. If you engine RPM is not increasing, then this is NOT your problem.
The next thing is- I'm assuming the TH-350 is actually a TH-350C (with a lockup converter)-if your engine RPM is not going higher and higher, you're just taking more time to get up to speed- try unplugging the electrical connector on the drivers side of the transmission case and see if your problem stops- if it does you have a gummed up/defective TCC solenoid.
If neither of these two conditions apply and your engine rpm is not disproportionately higher than it was, you more than likely do NOT have a transmission problem.
