Somewhere on here there's a link to an insurance site which will tell you what you should be paying and provide you with quotes from different companies as well.

yeah an insurance broker seems to be the way to go. Im paying just under 5 before taxes for basic and fire&theft, no collision and thats through whatever broker my parents use. I'm also 17 years old and its a 1990 5.7L. My friend whos the same age went through one of the brand name insurance companies and is paying 5500 a year on an 89 v6 maro. I payed 7000 on my car too and he only payed 1500!!! I make fun of him all the time just for that. Insurance is crazy high though, i wanna move to BC

7000, did you at least get a kiss. I only pay1800 for my truck and car, the truck is only 4 years old so it is more expensive than the car . the car alone is 700.

One thing you can do is if you have 5 cars or more is start a fleet insurance. cause as of next yr my 84 is a classic (20yrs old) and well the insurance drops quite abit a yr. but it will also be put in as a classic meaning. only ocasional driving, not to and from school to and from work ect... which means just cruisin around for no apparant reason. and what you do is insure the car not the driver when its in a fleet. And that should drop the rates a lil bit for you. thats if you have 5 cars or more.

Depending on the appraisal value you might be able to insure your 84 for about $250 a year as a restricted usage vehicle along the lines already talking about and then you could sell off the fleet and buy parts to make the 84 go faster.

This only works if someone's got 5 cars fully insured under a regular policy. The other side of it is get a few friends to get together and form a corporate entity and get a fleet rate. However, just like any other insurance, Bob writes his car off- the rate for the whole "fleet" goes up.

.. and then the shareholders and/or principles of the shell corporation drop Bob in the lake.
