that is just wrong!!!!!!!

i was at toys r us on the weekend looken for some dub city cars and found a pontiac firebird/trans am collection box with die cast models of all the firebird generations,so i open it up thinking kool i'm gunna get this but guess what...they had 1,2 and 4 generation but no 3rd!! WHAT THE HECK!! that just aint right at all. i cant figure out y they would make a thing that is suppost to have ALL the generations of firebird but dont have a thirdgen, even no i think the thirdgen look way better then a second gen and is just as important as the rest! anyway i figure i make a stand for the thidgens and ask if anyone knows y they hate on the thidgen so much "NOW"as to leave it out of a collection box, i mean at the time they came out or were still new/at dealers did people hate on them then to?? i just dont get it.

I have no idea why the 2nd best selling generation(being 3rd gens) was left out of that collection. My buddy has it. if you noticed the 4th gen trans am has the wrong colour scheme, it should have a blue stripe and wheels instead of the red stripe and wheels.

Thirdgen's have become the "standard" car people think of when they think "trailer trash" types (thanks for remving the 2nd Gen from this categorization ). Perhaps the toy manufacturer thought this wouldn't help sales any. Realistically, how many "collectors" go to Toys 'R Us for their goods? It's probably just an oversight/error.

I have that set. All the colors are wrong. If they wanted all the anniversary editions than the '69 should have been white with the blue stripes, the '79 should have been the TATA (silver), and the '99 should have been white with blue accents. Weird really why they didn't put a 3rd gen in there somewhere.

You can get a version of that set with the proper colors but not at Toys R Us.

The reason you won't find a 3rd gen Trans Am is because they haven't been licensed by GM. I have been bugging a shop that is strictly die cast collectables and the only 3rd gen is the Camaro. My arguement is that there is not just one but two anniversary edition Trans Ams in the 3rdgens. The 1984 and the 1989 Turbo Trans Am.

You'd think that the die cast community would want to make a model of one of the fastest factory F bodies every made(the 89 TTA). If someone made one of those It would be in my cabinet for sure. The only 1/18th scale thirdgen I know of is the sunstar. Quite frankley the detail leaves a little bit to be desired. I wish Auto Art or Peach State or one of the higher end manufacturers would make a thirdgen. I still can't believe nobody makes an Iroc Z, one of the best selling F bodies of all time. Even the SLP Firehawks would be a good one to make. Maybe its time we start petitioning a manufacturer to do so......
