Try replacing the thermostat after you clean out between the radiator and condenser ... you may have leaves stuck in there (I did).
Sometimes thermostats start to "go" with age. Replace that first. Should take 45minutes and cost $15 or so. Don't forget to buy the gasket.
You may want to check your coolant/water mixture too, or do a complete flush if you haven't in a few years ... good for the radiator. Old antifreeze becomes acidic after many years, deteriorates the radiator and decreases cooling ability.
Let us know what happens.

Ya, I'd start by flushing the whole system out, engine, heatercore, radiator. I usually just take the hoses off and shove a hose in the end and flush until clean water comes out. I'd flush, then drain the engine as well, there are little plugs unger the exhaust manifolds to get the water out before you add cooland mixture again.
Look in the manual and see what the total capacity of the system is (volume wise) as you won't be able to get all the water back out of everything after flushing.
To re-fill, add 50% of the total volume in new 100% glycol, then top up with water to get the proper 50%/50% mixture. I use the
Is your rad rotten, ie the little fins falling out/apart?
Shoot a 160 or 180 stat in it.

Ya, a 160 stat may do the trick. I run on a 160 in my LG4.
But try the above steps first.
You may have also had an air lock too ... flushing properly will hopefully rid of this problem.

I had problems with mine years ago. There was a lot of dust and dirt and crap that had got between the vanes in the rad. Blew it all out with an air hose and no more problems. I had the schroud off a few weeks and I noticed that the dirt had started to accumulate again. Might be worth checking that.

overheating
well i put in a new thermostat and flushed the system thoroughly, my rad was already clean no dirt or dust in it, like 2 leaves. drove it for about 20 mins and it stayed under 80 degrees the whole time, i tried pushing it a lil bit and didn't go anywhere so it was the thermostat and it was a lil sticky.
thanks for your help
