SUP everyone. well the time of year is here and im putting the camaro away for the winter. im parking it in a underground storage and driveing my new 04 lancer for winter. i was just wondering if there is any dos or donts? should i start it up from time to time and let it run? should i keep it off all winter? should i keep a fulll tank of gas in it? ect.....

so fare i cleaned it all out, took out my system, put $hit tires and rims on that i dont need. and i am going to take out the battery, is there anthing else i missed?

 

Make sure you top up all the fluids including the gas tank as you mentioned because if its empty, moisture can get inside and start rusting. Also get some gas stabilizer because it will go bad after sitting over the winter.

When I put mine away for the winter, I dont start it at all. I figure one dry start after the winter isnt as bad as starting it once a month.

I didnt even remove my battery, I just unhooked it, and hooked it back up 6 months later in april and it fired right up no problem.

I covered up my tailpipes so nothing would go inside there and also put a small dish of baking soda on the floor to help with moisture. It seemed to work fairly well. I also put some bounce sheets in different areas because its supposed to keep mice away.

 

Is it my imagination ... or isn't it a bit early to store cars right now?

 

It's your imagination Ron - it's been damn cold this last couple of days.

 

When you start it up for the first time, pull the coil wire and let it turn over for a while so that the oil pump can lubricate the internals. Then re-install wire and fire it up.
