'91-92 Z28

If I am posting in the wrong area, I'm sorry guys. -
Im looking for a '91-91 z28 - factory 5spd car . I prefer little to no mods, but really, all I care for is that the car has to have the original block in it. Tranny upgrades like the t56 don't bother me wither.
Mileage is not important, but the car can't be a basket case. The only other factory option that I would prefer the car to have is JB4 - the 4 wheel discs.
-Thanks
Andrew
Any leads/info I would really appreciate. P.M. if you like. I will travel to look at potential vehicles most anywhere in Ontario.

Great looking machine - But I should have mentioned that I Don't want T-Tops. I take it you added them to your car?
By the way I meant J65 - 4 wheel discs - not JB4
Thanks

It also doesn't have rear discs. That and it has his taint on it

It's been my experience that '91-92 5 speed cars are tough to come by. People don't want to give them up because, after all, they are the best 2 years of thirdgens

I think somebody was selling a red Z28 a few months ago on here. It looked really clean but that's all I can recall about it. Try doing a search for it.

Oh, and welcome to the Ontario board

Now that I think about it, the car was an LB9 automatic and it was in Merrickville. I have no idea why I remember that. I couldn't even remember how old I was the other day.

I did the search you mentioned - it was a '92 z28 - nice car, even spoke with the owner - it's listed on the autotrader - just not what I am looking for.
The thread was interesting reading though
Thanks, keep me in mind guys - pm with any info/leads etc.

I think the majority of the 5 speed cars that you'll find will be t-roof cars.

T-roofs are the work of the devil

Good set of SFC and the T problem is fixed.
If you plan on modding at all, I'd stay away from the 5 speed cars.

Actually If I had to roll a thirdgen, I'd rather be in a t car.
The frame work for the t section is pretty rigid. Other than the pieces of tempered glass all over, but you'd probably have that when the sid windows blew out anyhow.

Beisdes the fact that the 5spd is a weak pos, what else is wrong with them? If planning to mod, and you want a standard tranny, wouldn't this be the easiest route to take? Swapping the 305cid for a 350cid seems to be easier, and if you go to the extreme, then swapping out the old T5 for a T56 or?? is much easier to do then cutting up the foors/trans tunnel, hanging pedals etc? This is just my opinion.
I agree frame connectors can beef up a t-roof car, but besides this, why else do you recommend staying away from the 5spds?
-Andrew
I'm still looking.

I like a standard better but not in stop and go traffic. It's a PITA trying to drink coffee and shave while shifting gears at the same time.

I agree.

TKO is about 1,800 US right now from Forte's, pretty much bolts right in. I wish I'd done the conversion on my car three transmissions ago. Lost 3rd. in the TH350 yesterday.

Why am I always a few days late to get on the easyclutch rides?

What ever did happen tot hat Ducati...you never did say from a few months ago if you'd ever been on a bike before! haha

As for the 5sp vs auto, if you do ever go to a T56 the pedals and hole in the floor are the easist part of the swap other than actual fact you're choppin a hole in the floor of your baby.

Usually even the autos are toast with anything more than a new air cleaner or 120K anyways.

I do agree, better to go all out the first time on the trans...T56/TKO or auto. Get the best you can, you'll need it.

Not sure what you are saying here? why chop a hole in the floor if its already cut out for a manual tranny?

I mention the 5 speed comment because I'm there now.

There's nothing like building a motor up, only to not be able to literally beat the christ out of it cause the tranny will implode.
