Intermediate pipe. It's unlikely you will find a factory origional one. Those and the aftermarket stainless steel ones are the only ones that last. The stuff you get at joes muffer and crappy tire are alluminized and don't last very long.
I have a factory stainless from a 97 WS6 but I'm saving it for the next time I need an intermediate pipe for one of my 3rd gens. It won't be a direct fit on the cat end but I'll fab up something.

ill hopefully have mine out this week but the y pipe is toast... and there is a hole near the muffler could be seal or something but if you want i can see if they can salvage it (having a shop put in a 3'') single your probably better off getting a 3'' stainless that will last for a long time

I really hate to intrude into a regional board but the topic caught my eye when I was browsing the list of new posts. Pardon me if I offend anyone.
The stock GM I-pipe for your LO3 is still available. The part number is 10113066. It's costly being about $90. I would add a aftermarket catback before purchasing just an I-pipe for that much money.
Also Maremont (Arvin-Meritor) makes one with the part number of 369777. It can be purchased for about $32.
Of course, you're best bet is finding an I-pipe that someone has removed or that is at a salvage yard.
Hopefully some of this information is helpful. Oh and, all prices I quoted were in US funds from US sources.
