Sub frame connectors

First thing, I would like to thank everyone for the advice and help.
Since I am installing the 350 in my T-roof T/A, would I need to reinforce the frame from twisting?
If so then what is recommended to use, bolt on or welded?
I would think probably welded but if the bolt on works just as good I will go with those.
Any brands that are cheap and good enough you guys recommend?

The problem with the bolt-on SFC's is that the bolt holes gets larger as time goes by and it loosens..IMHO SFCs should be welded.I have the old non tubular Spohns on mine and its pretty beefy.

I've used the Aliston weld in SFC's before in a t-roof Z28 and I thought they worked pretty well.

Welded for sure. I have the tubular Spohns; they fit real good and don't lose any ground clearence. I'd suggest parimeter SFCs rather than the ones like Alston which install closer to the middle of the car.

WELDED ONLY.
You may as well tape on bolted ones.

I have the Alston's and they fit very well. I can post pics if you want.

The perimeter ones would work better. Ideally you want a set that ties the front and rear subframes together and to the rocker panels.

Check out this

These tie into the rockers, but could do it a little better.

I think Kenny Brown makes some 'double diamond' connectors that looked good.

thats $349 US, way to expensive.
I could see spending maby $150-200, dont forget theres shipping as well and taxes, then installation.
Dont want to go over board with just that.
Im looking at those hotchkis and Spohns but I dont see the non tubular.
I couldnt find the Alstons, only pics of installed Alstons.
I really dont want to bother cutting or modifing the floor pan either, however has anyone done that method and was it hard?

Go with the Mac subframe connectors. I have them on my car and they are very reasonable. $134.50US + ship.

Does Alston have a site I can order from or even see their product line?

I think the Alston and MAC SFC's are very similar.

The MAC ones to look the same, but the connections to the frame look a lot weaker. Te MAC appear to be just flat plates wheras the Alstons are 'C' type that slide over the frame and will transfer loads much better.

For that much difference in $$ I'd go MAC and add a few plates to strengthen them up.
They won't do much unless the loads get transfered into and out of the connectors.
