What stuff should I look for? Do you like raw wilderness or or ABS?

there is one of those on a car lot near my work in pretty good shape right off of steels in woodbridge.

 

There is also one of those at the public auto auction here in London. Been there a few weeks now

I'll go have a look today. No usual weak areas I should look for? Most cars have them, just not used to roadmasters. If it were an f-body I'd know exactly what to look at.

 

Only rust spots behind the wheel well but other than that theres nothing else I can think of.THese cars are pretty soild so its just like buying any other car rust,engine,tranny,rear, leaks and smoke..Thanks again man

 

Yep, moved here in the fall.

 

Just got back from the roadbastard evaluation. Car is solid and engine sounds healthy. Exterior is in great shape. Minor rust under the hood and the underbody. Drivers seat has a small hole on the bottom bolster. Dash has some kind of staining on the top over the entire thing. Think it will clean off. Tranny fluid smells good tho I didn't taste it. Suspension seems a bit bouny. Might need new shocks. 2 brand new mufflers on it. 242K's on the clock.

Sales guy is firm on his price. Couldn't beat him down a nickle.

Is it the same LT1 used in the 4th gens or are there differences? Roller/non roller ect.

Only difference are the heads.F-body got the AL heads.

 

Didn't they get a different cam? I love Roadsmashers

yes.it was a write off.I still have a few parts to take out before I swap the shell for 350HP 350...

 

One of those big old beasts may make my next winter beater. I won't steal that one out from under you Daz but it seems like a good deal to me. They are cheap and a drivetrain that I don't mind working on. No FWD crap for me. Worked on a few for friends and don't like it one bit.

The GTA is getting megga repairs which are about to begin shortly. Fenders/nose/doors/wing/skirts and engine all replaced. Seats and carpet too. Floor is quite good since it was oil sprayed young in it's life and seen every winter since it was born. After looking at a bunch for sale that are far worse than it, i'm fixing and keeping. Folks are selling a lot of garbage that could not make safety inspection without a couple of grand at least to fix. Major car re and re comming up for me. The GTA will not see another winter.

Gonna finally bite the bullet and buy the Lincoln Mig Pak 15 from crappy tire. GTA is gonna need it in a few spots. Can get an additional discount off the sale price do to retired company family. Better than a poke in the eye.

Skinned knuckle hell, here I come.
