Bought a 91 GTA hardtop. Red exterior, black leather interior. 350 auto. 158K In decent conditon. Floor ect is in great shape. Will oil spray soon and keep doing it every year. No winters for this one. Picking it up in the morning.

Have to do a few things for safety. New tires which I already have, new headlight, a couple of piddly *** bulbs and a front caliper. The highbeam switch doesn't work. Not sure if it has to for safety inspection but I"ll have to fix it anyway since I drive in rural areas every now and then. Any one know if I need that for safety inspection?

I will pull something off the road since I currenty have 3 cars insured for just 2 drivers. 4 is even beyond my limit. Most likely the 87 GTA since I need to do a bunch of body work and do some minor welding on the floor pan and major welding on the rear wheel wells. The rear wheel wells would not be so bad except the body shop who painted it last sandblasted the not so bad wheel wells and didn't coat them in something that would stand up.

Thanks!

Fixed: High beam actuating rod. All burnt bulbs. 3rd brake light has crappy connectors. I might go after that with a soldering iron. I like the way the dash and the rest of the car is put together tho. It's a big improvement over the trillion nuts bolts and screws used in a 85-90 style.

It looks even better under body than I thought. It's quite clean and never been rustproffed. It must have seen no winters. Even where I can pick of the stock seam sealer is spotless under it.

Just put new struts in (it had origionals and was bouncy) and am about to do new front brakes. Back brakes are perfect. Just took it apart and cleaned it. Just a re and re.

It has an allum. driveshaft. The rest of the car is bone stock. Maybe a 1LE? Iiiiiedunow. Would be nice. Never had a chance to reserch it's history much.

Tires, drive clean and safety on tuesday.

Sounds like you got a pretty decent car overall.... finding a car in Canada that has a fairly clean body and undercarriage is always a nice find.

I don't know much about the 1LE options, but I'm pretty sure if it is a 1LE, it would have that code on your option sheet.... if my memory serves me correctly, the sheet should be in the lockable compartment in the back hatch. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

Cool car, have fun and if you take your VIN in to your friendly neighbourhood GM dealer you should get your RPOs in return for a friendly smile! I used GM Historic in Oshawa to get a complete package for mine, kinda cool but cost like $50

Options that make it a 1LE, air conditioning delete, PBR dual piston calipers up front, disk brake rear, engine oil cooler, aluminum driveshaft, I would suspect that it would also have WS6, but I am not an expert on the birds. Some would also say that it should be radio delete and have manual windows but I have heard of a few cars where this was not the case. Nice car Ed, gonna come out to the outer burbs and show it off?I could use a little help removing a rear end out of the parts car.

Yes, I do recall having a '91 GTA in my hands at one time. All sorts of little goodies built into it. Ewww it was like a dream come true. Not stock but aftermarket goodies too, soo much aluminum it would make you're mouth water. Then I realized what a bloated PIG it was. Wecome camaro

Can't be a 1LE cause it has AC and single piston calipers. It may have never had a radio. Some pioneer POS in there right now for tunes. Some moron decided to mount tweeters on the door panels leaving 3 screw holes on each side. Might get the uphostery guy next door to redo that part or figure some way to cover it up long is it looks presentable. That kind of stuff really bugs me.

Tires install is put off till tues. evening. Rides much better now with new struts. Still have to address the shocks. Likely in a week or two.

The struts were easy with the exception of one bolt. I had the impact on it. I torched it. Beat on it with a BFH. Penetrating oil. Broke my 1/2 drive rachet. About a hour later, It finally came out with the impact gun.

Booked on wed for safety, drive clean and allignment.

Steve, I can give you a hand likely later in the week. Thurs, fri or on the weekend. What ever suites you best.

Speakers in the early '90's GTA's huh. This is the way they should have been done. Anyways, I ditched mine after I found out it weighed like 5000 pounds. Looks nice and all, but looks just don't cut it. What an overweight POS! Dude, trash that thing before it gives you anymore headaches man LOL!

Later gator.

Sorry my friend, I'm just pokin' a little fun with you. Don't mean to offend you.

My buddies always give me the business when I get a new/used car

Me? I'm not offended. Loads of folks think they are bloted. I do a bit. That drivers seat gotta be a good 60 lbs. Since it's a hard top I'm gonna guess it's gonna weigh in at 3541lbs. Next time I get access to a scale, I'll see how close I am.

Got the new tires installed for $40 from a tire shop. Friend of a friend type of thing. Guy even used a tq wrench and agreed not to put lead weights on the outside of the rim. I was schocked.

Everything else is done, drive clean, safety and allignment. Just need to get tags and pay the tax.
