Hopefully there are no more plans for Project ZZD just finishing it now. There is quite a list of things to do on the garage wall but our plan is to have it ready for the London car show at the end of the winter.

Leak down test and dyno the ***** before the warranty runs out.
Maybe install an oil accumulator.
Try to fix vibration which comes in over 120 mph.
Clean inside car and remove two 25 litre fuel tanks from trunk which are stinking up the car.
Maybe remove the radio and install some more guages in its place.
Not spend very much money on anything.

I won't be upset if I don't sell it. Now, my wife on the other hand........
It just needs tuning and an intake that doesn't require a Valium chaser after installation.

You're looking at a complete dummy motor/tranny in those pics.
Carb will be from CSU, boost will be 10-12psi street pumpgas & 20psi or so with C16 on the track.
Hoping for 10.0 on pump, but we'll let the track decide that.

plan is to finish everything from last year, never got it on the road last summer
main hope is to just get it on the road and to not procrastinate
1) Finish motor; Stroker is finally just about finished now, push rods and new waterpump and dampner is all that is needed, then paint it all up drop it in when I get the time. Re-weld the exhaust
2) Fix the subframe to make it more sturdy, buddy of mine wants to fab up a light weight flat bottom kit for me, I will gladly let him do that.
After over a year of building the darn thing and the motor is broken in
3) Im gunna get the interior professionally cleaned and fixed up, especially the headliner.
but #3 is only pending if i get it on the road first.
thats pretty much my list

But ive only been in the country 4 months of those last 6 as of vacation time.... ive got the tools to measure them up and all once i get the size i want i will order them drop it in and voila no more procrastination once thats done, the rest is plug in and play.
In 4 days im leaving again and wont be back untill at least February!
Guess thats what I get for being a backyard mechanic. I just keep tellling everyone that im taking my time to do it right.

Paint 85Z before the end of january.
Replace the worn out 305 in the 87 GTA and paint it soon after. Hoping to be done by the end of feb.
That should take care of the winter beaters for a while.
On to the good ones.....
Heads/cam/long tubes for the 91GTA and maybe paint. Paint is ok, would like it to be perfect. Likely late spring.
Already have a set of heads for the 98, might get them ported and throw a cam in it with a set of longtubes and intake by mid summer. Once in the 400RWHP ballpark, I'll leave it alone.

The IROC will be getting 4.10's in the 9 bolt (which I already have) which also means drag radials...
The LT1 will hopefully be getting a proper PCM tune after 4 years! It'll also get valve springs or a head/cam combo if I can slip it past my wife.
Anyone know what 9 bolt parts are worth these days? (used 3.45/3.70/4.10 gears and rebuilt posi's)..

yup, I can get all parts for the 9 bolts, new and used.
New gears are $$$, used are easier to get.
Let me know what you're up for...

Seriously Neil, I really need a set of 3.73's. If you could help out that would be great. I heard about your trip.
Must have been alot better than sitting through a hurricane.
Anyways, who do plan on having do your gear swap, there's not many places who know 9 bolts exist, let alone know how to service them. I had heard the shimming procedure is different than standard 10 or 12 bolt rears.

That would probably be the smartest thing to do. I think i'd end up doing my own, as in my faith in shops around this area is severely diminished.

Trip was great, so was 5 weeks off work!
I'm not sure about who I'll get to install the gears, I might try it myself but don't think I have the proper dial indicator/guages required. I am pretty sure these set up like any other axle, I can't see why they would be any different at all.
I did bring back a 2 sets of 4.10's...
As for 3.73's I was thining of getting something like 5 sets of used gear sets at once depending if people would want them or not. I don't have 100% firm prices yet for used, but they will go for about $250CAD a set.

Of course there is more in the plans. The automatic will eventually go away... it will need sub-frame connectors and the motor will get help breathing....
