Wanted

I know this is not 3rd generation related, but I thought maybe some one in here could help me in my quest for the following.

I am looking to buy the Dual Snorkel Air Cleaner assembly for the Ram Air Setup for my 1971 Formula. The base pan is shown below, but I need the rubber ram air boots and the ram air boot retainers also.

Call one of the big U.S. restoration parts vendors like Year One or NPD or look on ebay. The rubber bits may not break you- but the complete housing assembly will run you quite a bit (as in hundreds of $$$ for a repro- thousands for an NOS piece).

Unless you happen to be the lucky one who finds an old guy with a "cars in barns" thing going on- it's pretty unlikely anyone just happens to have a genuine ram-air cleaner setup they want to get rid of "cheap". You'd have to live in a pretty deep hole to not be aware they're worth $$$'s these days.

All I can say is "good luck."

Ya I know that........... but you never know unless you ask who might have something laying around.

Then I can climb out of my hole and put it on the formula.

And I never said it had to be cheap. My intent was that I might like to find one locally that might be cheaper than going to the US and paying brokerage fees and shipping.

You can save brokerage/shipping charges- Year One has a number of dealers in Canada that carry their line (they order a pile of stuff for customers, and spread the shipping/brokerage charges across every item on the order before adding their markup)- one is in Stoney Creek or Burlington (don't remember their name right now but they used to run ads in the Tri-Ad and I think that Barrie-based classified paper "The Bargain Hunter".

I can get what I need from Classic Industries thru FireAro in Mississauga for around $1,200.00 for everything. Just throwing the word out there to see if there is anything going for less money.
I do keep my eyes open while leafing thru the TRi-Ad though.
