O2 sensor
I just installed Edelbrock headers and have a problem.
The O2 sensor is located on the bottom of the header (driver side) instead of the top manifold close to the plug.
Since theres only a few inches of cable is there anything I can do to the cable like cut and use another wire to extend or is there an extension wire I can get?

If it was like mine they should have given you a small bit of wire with the appropriate ends on it to "extend" the wire. It was in with my "kit" many years ago.

I didnt get any extension, thats why Im asking to find out what I can do.
I called partsource to see if there is an option to buy such an extension and was told its just a wire, that I can cut the wire and use any wire to extend it.
Thing is Im not too sure if that will work...

Splicing your own wire in will work- but you want to solder it and make sure the connections are weathertight (i.e. shrinkwrap or the like- not electrical tape). Voltage levels from 02 sensors are so small- any f-up in the connection will cause grief to the ECM/tuning. Call Edelbrock and see if maybe your box was mis-packed and there should have been an adapter/extension.

I am not 100% sure about this, but don't think splicing the actual O2 sensor wire is a good idea. I remember something about it being a special type of wire on some units that has something to do with the calibration of the unit. T
hat being said, just extend the factory harness, it is regular wire.
I have done LOTS of engine wiring and always use this method...always solder every connection, even in the weatherpacks. Along a wire for a splice coat the joint with RTV (silicon), then use shrink wrap over top to seal it. The RTV should squeeze out of the ends of the shrinkwrap.
I would get some high temp wire sheathing to cover it with and tie wrap the harness out of harms way as it will likely be in the airstream under the car now.

I guess I should've mentioned to cut/splice the factory wire. Some 1-wire 02 sensor wires have some sort of thin heat shielding on them to protect the wire's internals from resistance buildup as temperature increases (most 3- and 4-wire sensors have a plug on them- no wires at all so you have to modify the car's wiring).

I would say just call Edelbrock...and say yoru kit didnt come with it...they should send you out one free if its a new kit, or if not I am sure they will send you out one of the leads for a minimal charge. I have heard something similar to 6-speed...probably best to jsut spend the couple $$ and be done with it...its also a hell o fa lot better than trying to splice and then shrink wrap down there.

I made a connetion from the sensor to the ecm wire, real ghetto for now but not throwing codes for o2 sensor.
Car runs like crap, engine shakes bad and there seems to be less power, although Im getting a code 22 I wouldnt be suprised if the o2 signal is messed as well.

when i installed my edelbrock headers, mine came with it so i would call edelbrock.
