Track Video

From last October at Mosport.

The silver SS is my friend's car and it blasts off once he gets to the straight. Next time around a yellow race prepped 911 goes past followed by my dark blue TA.

The straight is maybe 3/4 of mile long so lots of room to get wound up and then there's a long sweeper where you can carry a lot of speed on the way in.

Click on the box at the far right of the youtube toolbar to make it go fullscreen - looks a lot more like what it does at the track when it's fullsize.

It's an ALFA GTV6. The guy driving it has the line down pretty good.

I passed him a couple of times at different places on the track - it's a strange car and it was lifting the inside front wheel in some corners.

Cool. You do any mods to your car for this season or are you comfortable with where its at?

I'm thinking about trying the panhard rod relocation to adjust roll center but soooooo many suspension mods already i need time to play with it before changing more.

Nothing new for this year - main thing is just to get out there and drive - but the car badly needs a brake upgrade because I'm pushing it to the point of fade on quite a few corners which doesn't leave much room for error.

I find the car to be very good on the long track just with the suspension mods that it has - it doesn't like the short tracks so much though.

Problem I have right now is that the car needs a shitload of money dropped into this year just to use what its got.

fug'n eh I hear that. I want new skins but cant justify cuz the rubber on it only has 4k on em but they are ***** on a kaiser lemme tell ya. Crapyear GSD3's bleck junko

Whats the popular track/street tire now? I ran the Yok's a few years ago and loved them. Considered pilot sports this time round but opted for the crapyears because of all the rave reviews on tirerack. Me thinks them tirerack dudes are either dum or have never had a good tire under their car before. They hold decent once loaded but the sidewall wobbles all over the place. Unbelieveably bad too. The whole car heaves where the yoks felt like go cart firm. Heck even Gatorbacks were better IMO

Rant over I'm leavin the shop now goin for a beer. Missing the friggin UFC dangit

You know if you need brakes the C5 swap is cheap albeit labour intensive as there is much fabrication involved but they are waaaaaay better than stock not to mention they look sweet too I think performance wise the 1LE ( C4 HD is what I would do ) is probably better for all out racing. I still think my Players car brakes better ( more consistent ) than the C5 set up. I was running a stock p valve though and now have upgraded to 1LE and new master with braided lines so I'll know for sure this year.

I bought the C5 calipers used of ebay with abutments for just over a hundred bucks. Ebmiller has good deals now and then too I bought my p valve off him could give him a try. Dunno just waiting for the kettle to boil here its cold at the shop today brrrrrrr

C4 is what I was thinking because it'll clear the Ronal rims.

It needs a lot of other stuff as well including tyres and a diff; after all that it's still got the stock belts and seats etc. so I dunno if I'm going to run it this year or not.

Ya you wont be disappointed by those old school PBR's they work good. I can hook you up with a diff when your ready. It can be cheap or pricey depending on how much you wanna do yourself.

Speaking of diff I got a new T2R for this season

hehe although its not built for dragging at all I have to make the trip and see what shes got so I hope it holds up to 6k clutch dumps when I go to Cayuga
