It's never really been a club but it was sort of an association at one time I suppose.

The Ontario board used to be very busy but people have moved on. It was kind of a starting point and then people formed there own little clubs for one reason or another until it was feared that the arrival of another thirdgen site in Ontario would cause the entire interweeb to collapse.

As for clubs, it depends on what you want to do with the car.

If you're interested in drag racing or autocross, tfbm.org runs a number of events per year and they have social events as well. They are also affiliated with CASC in case you need a racing license.

The lsffa.com site is sort of an offshoot from tfbm and a lot of people there meet up about once a week or so.

Unlike many sites, you can say what you want on lsffa and your posts won't magically disappear w/out explanation.

For tech information this site is still OK but it has declined to some extent and you have to be careful who you listen to on tech matters.

Re: Club?

just picked up hooker #2055's for the car, they look really good

Will check out that tfbm.org, interested in drag racing the car, went out to sparta once last year with the Nissan Z club, i'm also interested in trying the car on one of the more beginner road courses like they do at dunnville i've heard, gotta figure out what clubs do that.

Are you an active member in any ontario based car clubs?

Re: Club?

I'm in tfbm for now; not sure about next year. SPDA is well set up and has some good sponsorship arrangements for racing so I might look there.

As for road courses that's about the only place I drive the car anymore; apart from getting it to the track.

For information on lap days check out the forums at casc.on.ca

There are a lot of lap days during the summer and sometimes they come up on short notice.

Dungville is not too bad to start out on but it's very hard on brakes and tyres. TMP is lousy.

Best track is Mosport GP but you have to work up to that one. Even though it's the fastest it's easier on brakes and tyres (and the car too IMO) than any of the short tracks. It's also a blast; the straight is about 3/4 of mile long so the car gets to whatever speed it'll do.

Re: Club?

Thinking to mostly start at the strip get the car dialed in good for that, and then we'll move on to figuring out how to make it go around corners good

thanks for the links, the tfbm doesn't look that interesting to me, but maybe i'll check out an event or two.

probably take awhile for me to find a group that I get along with

Yeah, I'm not much interested in clubs either and I don't drag race or run autocross but the 30% GM discount is useful sometimes.

Keep in mind that some of the things which make a good strip car will hurt it on a road course and vice versa. Depends how far you go with the mods though but generally that's the case.
