Value Appreciation

Do the value of these 3rd gens appreciate at all or have they always been the same? I'm not expecting to sell my GTA for 20 grand 5 years from now but I would like to see it go for something like 12 or 13 since it's one of the few unmolested ones..

Don't get me wrong, it's a nice weekend car but the reason I ask is that I might end up selling it once I buy a house in the future, i.e. 5 years from now (priorities )

Discuss...

Re: Value Appreciation

Its likely going to be in the eye of the beholder. They aren't ever going to be 69 Camaros, and honestly, I don't think muscle cars will ever see the peak of 2005-2007 (the Barrett Jackson days) again. I have seen some very low mileage cars on eBay as of late that aren't even hitting the reserves. And who knows what gas will be worth in 5-10 years? I would enjoy cruising in your car, and if they become collectible, so be it. I certainly wouldn't count on it.

Re: Value Appreciation

that's what my thinking was leaning towards, I will enjoy it and maintain it's condition regardless of what the future holds, thanks for the reply!

Re: Value Appreciation

No problem. These days, I keep an eye on eBay, see what is selling and what is not, and for what kind of cash. It won't tell you exactly what you can expect, but it will give you a ballpark. Personally, I think you got a good deal on your car from the few pics I've seen. Keep it in good shape and keep the miles down (as much as you can!) and I can't see you getting any less than you paid for it. 89 is a nice year, its got a lot of things going for it.
