engine rebuild...where to go?
Hi all....I have recently purchased a 1987 L98 Corvette motor with 113 aluminum heads. It will be going in my 89 LB9 5 speed car. I plan on using my 89 intake with siammesed SLP runners and plenum and having a egr bung welded to my headers to use the corvettes external egr.
I am in Kitchener and am looking for a reputable shop to take the motor to to have it rebuilt and have the heads ported. I just wanted the motor freshened up, heads worked on and install a new cam.
I don't mind driving 100km east or west. Any suggestions?
thx.
Mike

Re: engine rebuild...where to go?
Depends what you want. All below have a stellar reputation:
1) Heimpel Automotive, Kitchener. Biggest machine shop in the region, not sure if they do porting, but if you are looking for quality stockish rebuild, you have found your shop.
2) Dasilva Motorsports, Breslau. Specialize in LS building & tuning, but could no doubt upgrade your L98.
3) Forrest & Forrest Racing, Ayr. These guys are famous. The grandaddies of old school GM high performance. Get in line though, hopefully your aren't in a hurry.
Give us a report when you are up and running.

So how did you make out? Did you choose an engine builder yet?
