There's an Ontario Third Gen group on Facebook that has plenty of cruises and meets. I'm new to that specific group but it seems to be a bunch of pretty good guys, you should join in. Likely won't be any meets until spring but still some good conversation. I'm in the Toronto area BTW. What do you drive?

I'm in London. I had never heard of Smith Falls, had to google it. Pretty far from me, but if you're ever this way...
If you'd drive to London, Canada's biggest car show is here the first weekend in June (Fleetwood Country Cruise-In). The weekend after: Consider the Camaro Nationals in June for an outing. It had been in Oakville up till last year when it was at the GM headquarters in Oshawa. I heard it was good this year.

Re: looking to meet ppl with 3rd gens
i know I met next spring obv.
2 years ago my mom gave me her 88 gta that was my dads since brand new
its was bone stock for 28 years same engine and a 5 speed 305 tpi 1 in 861
I was told my whole life to keep it and in highschool years ago I too auto shop and learned
and it was dealer maintained its whole ife until 115 years ago
its had 4 paint jobs all prof and a 2000 gm new floor welded In 10 years ago
they both drove it in winter and I begged them not to
it has a worn out 305 that did 14.3 with all my tricks....1.5 years ago
for the last 2 years I started buying all of these parts to build a crazy 383 sbc for it
and I built it last winter in my garage freezing cold and I swaped it in this summer in my driveway it took me 1 month
an I also got a full t56 swap
it has 205cc alum heads
wiseco pistons
scat storker rods 750hp
scat crank
arp everything
chevy perf lt1 hot cam
felpro thin steel hg
I was driving it al around here for the last 2 months trying to get it broken in
my engine block is a 350 4 bolt from a 90s truck gmc
I had a couple issues putting it in
that took me 2 extra weeks I needed a crazy summit racing starter that was 220 cdn shipped
my 305 worn out starter wouldn't even crank it
once I got it to 500 I got a oil leak that made me crazy and finally I got it with some felpro cork steel perf. valve cover gaskets......
but it made it to 1000 kms the other week
and I did a mobil 1 full synthetic oil change
and I actually stepped on it and it pulled like a rapped bitch its scraed me
I need to get used to it
383 is 6.2l
10.5-1 compression.
also deleted the tpi for a weiand holley stealth ram intake manifold for it
bbk alum pulley kit
it also has new 30lb fuel inj
huge chrome valve covers.....

The fleetwood show is, well huge. Wherever you were standing at the T/A show, do a 360 and that area would be FULL of cars in all directions back to the tree lines plus cars in many other fields you couldn't see; thousands of cars on the Saturday and still half as many again or more on the Sunday. I was lucky to get a spot for that show by the north bridge at the ponds. If the weather is good it's a must attend show and to have it in SW Ontario is amazing as usually big shows are all state side. If the weather is total ****, it will still pull 1500 cars. People come from all over, states, other provinces. As of yet I have not heard of the announcement for 2019, but it is typically first saturday in June. Even if there were NO cars there, the estate owner is a world renowned Cadillac collector and as has two museums with the finest examples anywhere, amazing collection. Hell, just the one building alone that houses the early cars is an astonishing piece of architecture.

I did not make it to the show. I have met the guy that I think organizes it, John Hockley I believe?, who also does calendar I think. I wanted to go, but I have kids blah blah blah. Maybe next year.
