Peter - I'll definitely keep you guys posted. There are a few Facebook pages for Southern Ontario, and one of them is planning a fairly large meet in May or so.
Hey RKeats did you give up on the silver 85?
looks like price drop. He was asking $3000

I'm in love. Awesome to hear that the car just got right back after it after sitting for such a long time! This was my 89' last summer on it's maiden voyage after sitting almost a decade. It wasn't as successful as your drive.. but hey still fun

Which 85'? I took a look at the 89' T/A and was furious. Wasted an hour and half drive on a car that will never see the road again. Honestly, most of the third gens we see in our rust belt scrap yards are cleaner underneath than that was.

Hey we got twins!!
Thats crazy we would have almost the same car. You do still have it?
What is in it? Tell me more. Black interior?

You did mentioned checking out a couple this week end. No luck by the sounds of it.

There was the PA silver 85 TPI with 83,000 kms. Black interior. Interesting it’s a kms car. Was there any pics underneath? I didn’t see any. Guy hasn’t even cleaned it. But if it is clean below and interior is as clean as he said it could be a better option. You liked the combo
The tranny may be something else. Can’t be sure trannyshop isn’t just looking for a rebuild be hard to say. TV cable adjustment?
I don’t think it gone and seller is motivated.

Ooooooh the one for sale here? I wouldn’t buy anything from the US unless it was a serious collector item. Too much of a hassle to get it registered up here. That car’s also too much money considering the crusty condition.

I sold the roc last fall though unfortunately. New guy has it on Kijiji for 11K or so now though. It was an 89’, 350 / auto / 2.77, hardtop, with a tan interior and 130xxxkm. It was pretty sweet and I got a hell of a deal on it, but my heart belongs in a ttop GTA so I let it go. I did find a serious discovery yesterday though, which is an 89’ GTA with 100xxxkm abandoned behind a body shop. It literally doesn’t have a spec of rust underneath, and is extremely original and clean minus faded paint from sitting so long. I’m trying to scoop it for a few hundred bucks.

Say what?!?!?
That sounds like just what you want.
Does it run? Did you turn it over?
Do you know when it was last on the road and why it was parked? Too many questions but it sounds too good to be true. What colour?

That PA car was one of 205 made If it has the upgrade 3.42 then I’d say it pretty rare.
Silver was also the limited paint number.
I didn’t know it was difficult to bring something over from the states. I thought a car like that it would be no issue. I didn’t see it as too crusty from the pics he posted. Did you see other pics? I know you saw rust on the A pillars but I didn’t see it maybe it’s my phone.

I started a thread on it, take a look at my recent posts! That silver one needs a trans, has an engine light on, has damage on the quarter with rust, and had a few other funky things that I can’t remember. The colour’s sweet but honestly it would need to be a 5 speed tpi car AND be closer to $2g’s CAD for me to be genuinely interested. I think others feel the same because he’s had it for sale for a long time

You’re right. It needs tranny work and he probably wouldn’t go as low as 2 Gs
And no 5 speed with TPI in 85

From what I was told by tire manufacturers, that catagory of tire - street comp - they handle amazing on a dry road. But in the winter you should be bringing them inside, they can't even be stored in the cold. So if your storing the car in winter with these tires on the car, it should be a consideration.

Hey guys. I hope everyone and your families are doing well and are staying healthy.

I have had a few runs in my car but had a problem. My car is cutting out on fuel on off on off. Sounds like fuel pressure regulator? It will run in idle but cuts out on load.
I’m waiting for my ECM upgrade and tune shortly and thinking I might as well put in an AFPR and would like your ideas.
Any recommendations ?
Very much appreciated.

Re: New member

Really like your IROC, probly my favorite color combo in those. Have you checked fuel pressure? A quick way to see if your fpr diaphragm is torn is pull the little vacuum line to it and smell/see if you have fuel in there. To me it sounds like a possibly plugged fuel filter or fuel pump on its way out. If you do an adjustable fpr I recommend the Holley, it’s not cheap at $125 but the ease of adjustment without having to jam a wrench under the plenum is nice.

That would be great. There is a hang out every Friday night at 2 locations. One in Vaughan (Highway # 7 and Martin Grove) at the Texas Pit and the other in Mississauga (Erin Mills Prkwy and the 401) at the Tim Hortons. I usually go to the one in Vaughan for a bit and then to the one in Mississauga.
Hey Chevypower91,
Are you out tonight?

Re: New member

My car is no where as nice as yours, but... I have a taste for oem bolt on hop up parts. For me there is much to choose from with an LG4, less for you with TPI.

I’d consider at least

aluminum driveshaft
corvette transmission servo
