Any Members Active in Here? (Ontario Forum)

Just a shout out to anyone who might be around.
Recently I checked on the status of the old Camaro Firebird F Body Group forum and it's disappeared!

Seeing as we've participated in the same thread more than once, I'm pretty sure there are active members here!
All kidding aside, yes, I'm referring in particular to the Ontario crowd. Hence the Third Gen Association of Ontario forum question.
Or did I post in the wrong forum?

Whereabouts?
I lived in an around Toronto for 50 years.
Oshawa (my home town). College in Scarborough. Then 30 years near Barrie.
I'm only thinking of when the day comes that I decide to sell the car, I'll move back there for a summer and unload it there. More people. More opportunity.

This is more out of curiosity than anything else although at one time I was a heavy contributor. Getting in touch with some of the members would be interesting.

Facebook? Camaro club?
I'll be (hopefully) making frequent summer trips back home (home being Ontario despite having lived in Alberta the last dozen years).
At one time when there was an active forum, I forget the exact name but something like Camaro Firebird F Body Group, I was working towards having a track day at St Thomas or TMP. Might just try that again some summer.

Firebird alive and well in Owen Sound. Looking forward to the coming summer days, with the windows down and the tunes playing.

It sounds familiar, but I was not very active with it.

It would be cool to get together with some fellow thirdgen guys.

When I moved from Ontario in 2014, I used that forum as my classifieds to unload tons of 3rd Gen stuff. That and Kijiji.
Mostly Camaro but also lots of engine and mechanical parts. Wish I could have kept it all but that was impractical.

A get together would be a blast!
Stay tuned...

That's the one! I couldn't quite remember the name but that's it.
Yeah. Lots of good folks. I made the rounds and met quite a few. Especially when I was unloading parts. Or buying for that matter.
I imagine the whole lot has migrated to facebook or something like that.

I feel like it was still up a few months ago, but time has a way of going by quick. Maybe it was longer.

Good lord.
I never much cared for Oshawa's Nick name, the Shwa.
But the Shwanians do it to themselves!
I've always had a soft spot for that city. Went to school there. Worked at GM during the summer between college terms. Married, kids, all that jazz.
Did a fair bit of street racing too back in the late 70's/early 80's before the Fast and the Furious kind of ruined it for everybody. I wish I still had my 68 Chevelle from way back then!
Thanks for sharing that. I'll be forwarding it to my former city-mate who's still down that way albeit in Whitby.

Re: Any Members Active in Here?

Do cars still do the Simcoe St cruise?
We used to drive down to the lake and then head up north to what then was just about the edge of town. That would be the McDonald's at Taunton and Simcoe. We did that loop countless times nearly 50 years ago.
Come to think of it, after those days I took a break from hot rodding to raise a wife and kids. It was in the late 90's that I got back into it and picked up my first 3rd Gen. A white 84 Z28. Then a black 86 IROC. And that cruise was still active. There were even a couple of parking lot car shows mixed in too.

Cruises now end up in Port Perry, Toronto etc. Huge weekly car show in Ajax on Sat nights in summer.
The city has grown. As you mentioned Simcoe and Taunton was edge of town back then. Now it keeps going.

I remember the races in the early mid 90's on Wentworth (Oshawa/Whitby border), and on Col. Sam down by GM head office, and if you wanted to drive a little meeting up at Millies Donut shop on Steeles. Fun times, but no more, or at least, I'm too old to stay up that late to see them.
