where to buy tires?
where to buy tires?
ok guys I need some help find cheap but good tires for my Z-28.. I know that it is not easy.. but I think we all know that they rape us when we buy new tires for a car... So i am looking for a good dealer in the ontario area.. Lets see what we can find and maybe we could get a GP going or something..

If you want Goodyear you are going to get hosed 10 times out of ten. Goodrich on the other hand gives some dealers room to discount and can be competitive. Wanna bleed ? Go price out some Michelins Z Pilots. Ouch.
I have Hankook Ventus v-rated which is ok by me and priced right. There is a guy in Waterloo (Dave's Discount Tire) who has a small shop and gives steep discounts -- especially on Cooper Tires. I have no experience on these tires buit I think you can get them installed (Z-rated 245/50 16s) for about $200 a corner.

I'm not sure who makes Dayton but..
I have a set of 245/50/16 Dayton Daytona HR's on my IROC and I have to say that they are a great tire...nice tread pattern, uni-directional, good grip, and great in the wet...
Yeah I know they are not "Z" rated but they are the next best rating...I think the "H" rating is up to 130 mph...
Anyway... I have heard that Dayton tires are made by Cooper and I have also heard that they are made by BF Goodrich... I am not sure who makes them for Dayton but in my book they get two

Oh yeah
I paid $140 per tire.... this was the best deal I could find for a 245/50/16 series tire anywhere...and to boot I got them at a local Pontiac Dealership....

London Tire in Lobo, Ontario is a great place...they can get just about anything you want and they stock lots of stuff too. all their prices include balancing and installation. they have new and used. They are located about 10-15 minutes northwest of London.
their number is (519) 666-1350
hope this helps
