Canadian Notchback?
Canadian Notchback?
First of all... hello! I've been scouring the thirdgen site for a while now getting all the info I could find. Great site! I finally decided to check out the message board.
I used to have an 83 Camaro. It was pretty beat up (I paid $500... what would you expect?) It died about 4 years ago, and I've been looking to replace it since. Now the time has come... I really want one this summer. And that's what brought me to this board. I'm looking for info and opinions...
1- Exactly how rare is a Canadian (i.e. KM instead of miles) 88 GTA Notchback?
2- Theoretically,
if I were to find one, white, never winter driven, original paint, no rust, all original parts, with 63000KM on it, should I jump on the opportunity to get it?
3- How much should I expect to pay for this car?
Thanks in advance for the info.

Notchbacks are rare in themselves with only 624 made in 1988 and 1 made in 1989 (resources from www.gtasourcepage.com )
So, i would imagine a Notchback in Canada is rare... guesstimate below 50 brought into canada. If the car is that mint.... I would say the guy can get 15,000 for it easily!!

AcceldZ - If you know the exact car, tell me where it's located, and I'll let you know if it's the same one.
Oh... and "theoretically", I can get it for $7000.
I don't want to jinx anything... but I'm thinking this is one hell of a deal, and I just wanted to see what other people thought before I drive down to see the car.
So let's take this one step further... what kind of things should I look out for? I'll get the VIN soon to confirm that it really is an original Notchback... anything else to look for?

$7000 is an awesome deal... I'd jump all over it... in fact, if you don't get it, I will!!!
Two things to look for is on the RPO sticker inside the center console compartment. In the list you should look for 2 codes, one is the Y84 code, which indicates it is a GTA, and the AA8 (AA Eight) code, which indicates it came with the notchback lid.
