Centerbolt valve cover torque??

Centerbolt valve cover torque??

Hey guy's just a quick question,could somebody tell me the required torque for the valve cover bolt's (5.7 TPI), assuming we don't get a blizzard or somrthing stupid tonight I really have to change my gasket's tomorrow (oil's just pouring out both sides on to the exhaust manifold's)

I gotta do mine too... they are leaking like sivs... what the hell is a siv anyways?

1984 and earlier is 48 in-lbs
1985 is 60 in-lbs
1986 thru 1989 is 75 in-lbs
1990 and later is 89 in-lbs

This info is for V-8 f bodies.

Axle/Gears: 3.45 9 Bolt
I don't know what the specified torque should be , but when I did my valve seals, I just snugged them up and then gave them an extra half turn. No leaks, not even a drop.
BTW a sieve is used to strain liquids, it won't hold any liquid, hence "leaks like a sieve".

Keep in mind Boxeat's numbers are in in-lbs ...not that there's anything wrong with that. It just caught me off guard at first because I was thinking ft-lbs.

Damn IROCKER..didn't even catch that! Good thing too...lol. Snapped bolts suck. Anyway, thanks for the info. Mine could use a tightening too.
